Illusion Gear Enchanter

So I just discovered that you can actually enchant Illusion gears.

I went to this NPC in pront and read her dialogue.
It said that enchanting the item will not result to breaking the gear or losing the refinement and cards.
However, resetting has a chance of failure. --this part is misleading, when the item fails, you will actually lose the gear.
The NPC never said that ... or probably did, but the thing is, it wasn't very clear.

I was so used to card removals & BIO5 resets that if it fails, the gear will stay.
So this made me assume the same principle applies to this NPC.

I sent a ticket and am now trying to recover my illusion sacred mission.
I hope they recover it for me.

Unfortunately, we don't have the safe reset options yet (I think it was 1m zeny / 5 illusion stones for safe reset) since they say it's attached to the patch of a later illusion dungeon (just like with enchanting level 4 illusion weaps).

So for now the highest we can only get is 90% chance for success when resetting, I think.

as you can see, this NPC does not warn you that the gear could vanish if the reset fails.
her assurance that the refinement and card will not be lost during enchanting did not help either.
NPCs like Mighty Hammer clearly states that you could lose your gear if the upgrade fails but this NPC does not.

I will contest this on my ticket.

It is not very clear from the dialogue what really happens, rest assured they can check the log for the enchant/reset attempt and see what went wrong.

I'd say that they should restore the item but that's just me.

Will bring this to staff attention on Monday/Tuesday.

Yeah i know, I already tried the illusion enchantment right when it arrived on main servers.
But I never tried resetting because that 10% chance to break is a big thing when it comes to stuff that I already refined to +9 twice lol

And so far, the only mention about reset failures is in your top right screenie, but it doesn't mention anything about the equips breaking, which I also think is something they should've pointed out.

Maybe we can have them change the dialogue to say that? We can just say it was part of the 'translation'.

thankfully, a GM acknowledged my concern and will do a one-time item restoration. yay!

It was confirmed items may break during resetting enchantment parts, the staff are looking into updating the dialogue for clarity.
