Hey, I got back into the game around a month ago after not playing for ages. I came back for the nostalgia and was only playing very casually, but over a month later I'm still here so I figured it's time to take the game a little bit more seriously.

I've been leveling a Ranger (not quite there yet, still 93/55 sniper) and building him as Auto Warg Crit build since that sounded fun and AGI/ASPD builds are usually the safest and cheapest to play. Now that the bonus XP event is gone, leveling is taking forever. Still wanna be AWC in the end, but I'm looking at resetting when I get max level (or close to) and leveling as something else. From poking around I think Arrow Storm is the way to go for leveling, but I don't know how viable that is for someone with almost no money (for consumables, gear, special arrows, whatever else). Right now I'm sitting at 1/90/20/1/90/30 stats (STR/AGI/VIT/INT/DEX/LUK), with Eden gear plus Ring of Resonance and Ring of the Flame Lord. Would it be viable to pivot towards an AS build for leveling? Is that build any good for someone that doesn't really have a lot of money to spare? Looking at the irowiki, I can still swap to the Hybrid build (1/100+/60/90/110+/120). Is that any good?

As far as gear goes, I have an Autumn Headband for whenever I can use it and have been looking for a +7 Battle Surcoat + Cenere Card (which I guess wouldn't really help anymore if I go AS). I've got a little under 100M to spend. Is there any cheap equipment worth getting or should I just save up for the big pieces?

I've also been struggling a little bit with leveling and could use a few recommendations for this particular class/build. I usually go for the leveling spots on the wiki, but I can never handle the ones recommended for my level and always have to go for the ones in the bracket below. On top of that, how would I play as AS build? Do I just mob stuff up and then AS? Wouldn't I get hit while casting? Do I need consumables for healing or recovering SP? I have an AB on a second account that I can use to buff me if that's of any help.

I have so many questions lol All the guides out there focus on the most efficient/best strategies and equipment, but I can't find barely anything for noobs or casuals.

white wing set, scatleton's portable cage (skelly cat), fresh fish, a teleport clip or something and your autumn should be enough for you to level for quite a while, but be advised that places like magma dungeon may require fire element resistance since they spam ranged fire skills and you just drop dead from it, the ideal way to level is by kiting mobs around you (staying away just enough to avoid being hit) and using arrow storm once you gather enough, or just teleport + arrow storm if you have SP to spare.

Also, if you can get stuff to increase flee for cheap it can be very helpful to mob effectively.

White wing all the way for ranger. it's cheap and great for Arrow storm. go to Juno and kill Harpies+bounty board. should be able to get to 99/70 quickly. or do Turn ins with a party. there's a hybrid build that is pinned  if you want it. go AS then change to whatever you want too. :)

So Fresh Fish for HP and what about SP? Are there any cheap SP consumables or gear that I should look out for?

I see a lot of people talking about TIs, but I have zero idea how to go about finding a group for one. Is there anywhere I can read about group comps, what people would expect of me, where to look for groups, etc? I know what TIs are, I've been in there, I just don't know how to find people to do them or how it all usually goes. And wouldn't Juno be too low level for me? I've been leveling at GH Churchyard (Wraith/Evil Druid/Dark Priest) which I think is better, isn't it?

Dark priest/churchyard of good too. Hope are you getting the bounty boards in Geffen. I just feel like the spawn is to low but more likely to survive I suppose. If it works for you keep doing it. I just like harpies because they die fast and there's a ton of them.

As for turn ins if it is low ti just go to the mall and stay at the entrance with a chat up. Usually if there's people there you will be able to find a party.

You can try strawberries for sp items or honey. Oranges, or Mora Mandarin. Royal jelly is great but I think it might be expensive? DBL check ragial.

Definitely check out the videos by Lionel's(I think that's good name) and Nirvana.

Reset your Ranger and reconsider your job as crit ranger. YOU JUST TROUBLE YOURSELF by creating crit ranger. Bought white wing set and start hunting with arrow storm.

honestly play what you want to play. i leveled crit ranger to level 175 at verus from level 150s back when we had 3x exp for vip (plus bmx3 and spotlight exp on the same map) - never did bio4, NCT, etc..

you wont get there as fast as an AS build but you'll get there in time. BUT do take note that you'll need really good equipment (like almost endgame gearset, like for example: +15 crimson bow is about 2.8b to 3bil more or less depending on who's selling) to be able to level all the way to 175 as a crit ranger comfortably. with battle field manual x3's on top it'll get really expensive but it's possible!

so i wouldn't recommend it but if you want to be a hybrid/crit ranger from the start then go for it!

if you ever you change your mind and want to go as ArrowStorm type build, just get the white wing set and a +9 autumn headband - these should be enough to start with until you get a good weapon like +15 crimson bow or +12-14 big crossbow

Yea, that's my problem. While I do enjoy AWC, it's taking forever to progress and that spoils the fun somewhat. Maybe it's because I've been killing Dark Priests for a long ass time (this is my third character around this level) and I'm just bored of that. On top of that, I definitely don't have the money to sustain leveling with a subpar build lol. So going AS really seems like the only option, which isn't bad, I don't mind playing AS. I'm just worried about playing a class built around a skill since those usually need some kind of SP regen consumable and I'm not sure I can afford that long term, considering I have to buy gear and everything else too.

go to low turn in and party until you hit 99 and job change to ranger, grab a white wing set and a crimson bow and a under a cast accessory (phen) arrow storm build level in nogg + turn in for awhile and when you reach max eventually one day switch to auto warg agi build. thats what i did, but i stopped at lvl 160 as it got too costly to get higher end gears

Current AHB has sp leech effect which recover your sp by certain chance and amount.

Yea, I guess I gotta get into TIs and learn how it all works. Not gonna be able to solo it though, since I'm still AWC build. I mean, I probably could, but it'd take forever. Gotta learn how to get a group for that stuff.

Oh yea true, didn't think of that. Hope that's enough to not need a lot of consumables.

So the TIs didn't give me nearly as much XP as I expected (less than a level) and I can only do them once a day. Do I go back to leveling regularly in between TIs? I feel like it's gonna get a lot faster once I can get Arrow Storm and AoE, but getting there has been a struggle.

do you have VIP? TI should be faster with party. i think with VIP you can use a reset stone after one TI for a second chance. What i would do with my characters is TI reset stone TI then go to Harpies/Goats. if the party i was in was real good i would just stay until everyone stopped or i got bored. I will be on tomorrow around 8 am PST for a few hours if you need a party or help. my characters are in the link or Message me here.

You can do sarah memory and bijou instance. But you can do other activities in real life. You may go to juperos and magma to take bounty board.

i bet you already have eden merit badges, go eden and exchange 5 badges to beelzebub wing that can be use for 1 week. it save you from bringing lots of fly wing. just AS, tele and wait for cooldown then AS tele... either go juno and do nogg road bounties or stay at TI and grind for exp :)

Appreciate the offer, but I managed to get a group and do the quests. Problem is the daily cooldown... In my (not so informed) opinion, it's nowhere near enough XP to warrant a 24h cooldown. And no, I don't have VIP nor do I have enough money to afford reset stones just for that little bit more XP.

But you can do other activities in real life

Real life? Is that a new game?

Ooh, that's a cool tip. Though Fly Wings aren't particularly expensive. Wouldn't I be better off buying the Fly Wings and using the badges to exchange for something I can sell (I haven't really looked into the things I can get from those)? Thanks for the map tips too, once I finally become a Ranger and get AS I think things are gonna speed up a bit.

I would trade badges for magical stones to sell. Or just save until you are a higher level and use for x3bm buff for leveling. Really nice when exp events come around

beelzebub wing have 0 weight much better than 100 fly wing. you can even trans or change job with it :)

edit: have a look of this https://irowiki.org/...sts#Level_91-99 leveling quest, once become ranger you can do this if you are still level 99 it grants you huge job exp. do this several times and you can max AS and camouflage at no time.

Oh sweet, I can easily do Dark Priests, Injustice and Rybio since that's where I've been leveling anyways. Roween and Siroma are cool too since there's an Eden quest there and I have it memo-ed. Could probably do Nereid as well, since it's just right by Comodo.

Btw, huge thanks to everyone that helped me in this thread. I'm pretty happy with what I got, and I got some good tips for when I become Ranger (just gotta get there now lol). Here's the equipment I bought:

Autumn Headband [1]

+4 White Wing Suit LUK+3 STR+1 with Porcellio Card

+4 White Wing Manteau

+4 White Wing Boots with Sohee Card

+7 Crimson Bow

White Wing Brooch DEX+1 STR+1

Clip [1] and Phen Card (haven't combined them yet)

Oh, quick question: is +7 Crimson Bow better than an Elven Bow+Elven Arrows if I'm not using elemental arrows with the Crimson Bow? What if I am using elemental arrows?

I'm guessing a +7 Crimson is probably better than a +0 Elven, but at what point do they break even? Can't seem to find a damage calculator that has Crimson Bow in it.

Elven bow 1-150
BXB 130-175

Maybe I should get an Elven Bow then... Though I don't wanna get one before I can go to Mora. Judging from my experience, I'm not gonna be able to do the quest for a little while (I always need to be a higher level than recommended). On the bright side, I just managed to flip a +7 WWSuit for 120M profit in a couple of hours lol so I have some money to spend now

BXB only yield higher damager than +7 elven bow within this condition:
1.refine higher than 10
Or
2.has 2 AK card or 2 RS card. Some people said 2 AS card is better than 2 AK card but for me. 2 AK card is better because you will kill lot MVP later during mid and endgame.
