[Creative Contest] Ragnarok's Got Talent 2020!

If you are playing in this server for long enough, you’ll hear people telling you that the game is dying. Is it true? Yes, and no at the same time. Introduced by a friend 16 years ago to this game, quitted many times, playing in some servers, but here I am. Still here. In this server. But why?



No matter how busy I am in real life, there will always time for the game. Eventho is just for chatting with friends. I think, the reason why I play this game is not just because of the content. But the friendship I made within the game. I’m grateful enough that I got a chance to know and be friends with several people that I can proudly call them as family. Not to mention, meeting with someone that I love back in early 2019.



Relationship. I think this game is magical. Who would’ve thought that you can met someone that you never thought you gonna met from i-don’t-know-where and fall in love with that person? I knew some friends who actually got married in real life because they met each other from the game. I think, it’s crazy. I don’t believe in In Game Relationship. That’s bull-_-. You’ll ended up sharing your social media or messenger or even phone number and talk to them on daily basis. For me? Once feelings involved, there will be no in game relationship anymore. It transforms to real life relationship if it’s mutual. It can starts from anywhere. Mine is from iron ore back in Geffen J. Eventho we are no longer together, but the memories remains forever. I still remember how mad you were when I send you flowers to your office, I still remember your drunk voice notes and how worried I am at that time because you have to drive back home. Oh well, everything happens for good reason. I Guess?



Friendship. I don’t know where to start about this Tbh. I have countless stories from the game. From in game, to discord. Where we share our laughter, jokes and stories and whatnot. I met people who are really extrovert in game but really introvert when meet up. People from different backgrounds.

I won't forget the days we troll each other in BIO and not to mention our yearly Christmas Picture ! I am forever thankful that I found a community that can always be my number one support system in game, community that can lift up your mood when you are having a bad day and friends who do really care for you. I’m thankful for Chillies. Thankful that i got a chance to know these people. WW, Papi Zee (not to mention your dirty jokes), Ast, Arr, Lily, Irene, Emi, Hoenay, Ray, Loner, Shizune, Happy Virus and many more that I can’t mention one by one. Eventho we are miles apart, I’ll keep you guys in my heart.

I do believe, we are still playing the game for reasons. And those above, are mine. The journey I had within the game is priceless. If you haven’t found a community, don’t be shy and socialize! The game can be boring sometimes and remember the reason why we play this game. To get some fun. Be a good person and don’t fake yourself.



My writing has an end. But my journey? Not yet. I’ll pass this game to my kids one day.

The Tale of the Lady in White

                 In a town full of shops and travelers, there lived two girls named Emilia and Andrea. Emilia, was the count's daughter and had just passed her test to be an Archbishop who wore monster drop gears despite her family’s reputation. Andrea, on the other hand, was a commoner, a merchant's daughter, and a new Geneticist.

 

The two girls were childhood friends, they mostly did everything together, from leveling in dungeons to buying their own adventurer gears. Since they have job changed into their respective 3rd jobs, they decided it was time to venture out of Rune Midgard. The very first town they wanted to see was Luoyang since the town was surrounded by a Great Wall. Before leaving, they went to Emilia's house to bid farewell, her parents gave them food and medicine for safe travel. Her parents wept and prayed that their only daughter and her best friend would be safe.

 

The two girls left for Alberta and hired a boat to embark on their new adventure. Upon arriving at the Luoyang, they realized that the townsfolk were frantic and scared. It wasn't like what they had heard from other adventurers where it was a vibrant town teeming with happiness and life. They decided to get a room at the inn before going out to ask around since they were tired and hungry after a long bumpy ride out at sea.

 

As they sat down waiting for their food. An old man behind Andrea starting talking. “It has been a long time since we had adventurers like you. Nobody dared to come after what has been happening”. They got scared but they were more curious to find out what had happened, they asked questions one after another until the old man decided to tell them a tale. “Once Luoyang was a place full of travelers and adventurers, they came from different towns just to see the Great Wall and eat their specialty foods. Until one day, weird things started happening. Children went missing one by one every night. We asked some adventurers and guild to help out, alas, nobody could and nobody came back. As days passes by, nobody dared going further into the dungeon. Everybody put talismans and other things to ward off the evil. And people just either left or never came back while others coped up in their house just to feel safe. Nothing was the same since then”.

 

You could see that the old man's face turned pale, he seemed terrified as he was shivering down to his bones so he stopped and hurriedly stood up and left, apologizing to the girls that he should have never mentioned about the story that he shared with them. Both girls' faces lit up knowing that there's was an adventure for them to venture on. They rested up and went to the dungeon the next day. As the next day came, they went in, fought monsters and kept going in further until they found the portal to the last floor. At this point, they were so confident that it was going to be a piece of cake since the previous floors were so easy that they hardly needed any potions.

 

They went into the portal and suddenly they felt an eerie and ominous feeling, hair standing up on the back of their necks. It felt like someone or something was watching them amidst the foggy darkness. They didn't back down though, they geared and buffed up with their spells and slowly moved forward. Scouting their surroundings and assessing their situation, killing some monsters as they went further.

 

Suddenly they heard voices slowly heading towards them, instead of confronting the people who were talking, they hid under a small bridge. A gentle soft and demure voice of a lady talking to another whose voice sounded like a kid. The Lady said "Gather up the children that we recently took in and transform them into you guys so they can further protect this dungeon. Gather up those wandering adventures last week and make Zhu Po Long to clean up the mess around this dungeon of mine." They crossed the bridge and the two adventurers peeked out to see who it was. It was a lady in white and a Green Maiden, which was the monster that they had been slaying in the dungeon for the past hour or so.

 

They felt shocked knowing what had been becoming of the adventurers and people of the town. They just sat down feeling confused and ridden with guilt. Sitting there for a few minutes, they talked to each other, wondering what they can do. Finally, they came up with capturing the Lady in White, the monster who has been corrupting this wonderful town. They searched for her and looked for a chance to confront her. The time came and only the Lady in White was alone, her back was facing them.

 

The two girls slowly crept up to her and started casting their spells. Emilia casted Magnus Exorcismus while Andrea fired her Cart Cannon. The Lady in White screamed for help. The green maidens slowly came to her aid and started attacking them both and since they haven't gone back out to resupply, their potions were starting to deplete. And they couldn't keep up with the damage being inflicted. The White Lady got so angry and agitated by them, she started casting Water Ball onto Emilia who was behind Andrea. Andrea scream Emilia's name and casted Aid Potion, giving Emilia the last potion that she had.

 

The two of them were down to their last breath and exhausted from the fight. The White Lady stood in front of Emilia, looking down at her with a disgusted look. "This is why I hate humans, they ruin everything. They even ruined me, you adventurers are the downfall of this town. Now, DIE!" Andrea started throwing everything that she had in her inventory and cart, hoping that she could taunt or distract the White Lady and get her away from Emilia. Throwing everything even until the food which she got from Emilia's parents. The White Lady suddenly stopped, turned to Emilia and caught the very last cookie that Andrea threw. "Your petty tricks won't help you" she said and ate the cookie. She was in awe, her memories started rushing back into her mind when she was just a kid, eating this Gingerbread Cookie that her grandma use to make. She teared up and fell down on her knees sobbing.

 

Emilia and Andrea were confused, they tried standing up with every ounce of strength left in their bodies and willingly as if drawn by the kindness in their hearts went to hug and comfort the white Lady. The white Lady starting crying and apologized to them for what she had done and a flash of light shot onto her from the ceiling of the dungeon and it seemed like a curse was lifted from her. The white lady said she felt lighter and she felt less bound to the dungeon and the Green maidens in the dungeon started turning back into the townsfolk. The white lady said that It was always been her her dream to venture out and see the world.

 

Emilia and Andrea looked at each other and offered the white lady to join them on their travels. The white lady said her name was Chang Er and she was grateful to be able to join them on their travels and thus the trio left the dungeon and embarked on even greater adventures that would make them legendary in the world of Rune Midgard.
