Bro, dont blame OCP alone for peeps quitting.. 

 

New OCP is good as it gives new players chance to deal with old players with their old rare items, equal trade.

You do realize that if new players have access to it that also means those old players and their rare old items have just as much access if not more so thanks to their wealth accumulated over the years which doesn't help bridge the gap at all but actually makes it larger?

why do you even play RPG?

we all probably just want to achieve our own set of goals we set for the game.

Cant stop anyone from quitting, some may quit cause the game is too harsh.
other may quit because the game is too easy. <-"game update too slow, no challenges"
At the end of the day, personally i felt, what could have been done better has to be player retention.
which we should be glad that we at least have CMMayari now, to forward our voices to the team.

thou a lot of things could have been done better.
i am in line with anyone that find the new batch of OCP being absurd (in terms of "nerfing" & tier listing. somebody needs a better understanding of IRO..

"beat the game": we all have different views on this,
some wants to conquer all the guild castle, gather a team of best player
others wants to clear all game challenges at ease,
some wish to collect every item in game, etc. etc.

I've been playing for about 6 months. The only time I've played this game was around 13 years ago, so I had to learn the game from scratch, you can ask my guildmates for the amount of probably dumb questions I've asked.

I never bought VIP a single time and I only bought WP once which amounted only to around 400m at the time.

My main is 150 with a secondary account for a 150 level support priest that I've now reseted into ME priest. My main is Spellfist Sorc which is not a meta build by any means and still can reliably kill most low lvl MVPs and farm a good amount of stuff. 

All of this while wasting a TON of hours and zeny making 100+ characters because I was trying to figure out what class I would like. My account is now literally full of them.

My point with all of this is that I've done things probably the least optimal way and I've still manage to have a decent main character while having some of the most fun I've had in years. I've never felt "behind" once during this time because this is an MMO, things take time if you wanna do it your way but are still possible.

Some would be like that, but some would rather save real money in anyway possible and trade some of their old items for other players' doubles.

Of course you win rare stuff so you can use it, the primary goal of getting OCP (a.k.a Balik-Bayan Box       , thanks for pRO)  

Not having chance to win rare stuff over OCP would truly undermined the new players as they would be at the mercy of the server's price value on items, which is very high for zenyless players.

Hi Mayari, do you know if there will be any follow un the items below? - Many of those items are mentioned/questioned through several different topics across the forum and yet they just seem to be ignored/not addressed by anyone on the team. 

• Cart Cannon issue
• Whitesmith Skills made usable for Mechanic
• New Mado Mechanic Sprite (its already on the data why not just make it available)
• Ancient Hero Weapon Enchants
• Charleston Weapons - Enchantments

At least bring back the Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening, so we can get an idea things will be worked on.

I've logged in iRO once since they updated the level 185. I went to visit Nogg 3 before. I rushed there quickly with big expectations that Nogg 3 entrance would be full of "R> 175+ AB and killer (8/11)" or "R> Healer & GO!", just like old Gramps days or even OGH days. Nope I was dumb. Its empty at the entrance. Zero R> parties. All the time its a solo play winging around. Hell, I even thought I was surrounded with bots.

As with a number of things on iRo the lootboxes started out a nice idea. It gave items that allowed for odd new builds or help give less supported builds a boost but now people are doing millions with 2nd job skills and leveling while AFK thanks to autocast items and levels of defense, neutral resist and auto healing that were never intended to be in this version of the game. There is nothing wrong with players being strong, it's when they get too strong and lose interest because there is nothing left for them to accomplish anymore.

As for this particular loot box being absurd, that's not what people are talking about, if anything this box is pretty mixed bag. One of those rings doesn't do anything as it requires enchants that just don't exist in iRo currently, the other focuses on a skill that can't be used in instances because the CM team refuses to acknowledge that issue (among many other skill issues), and a good cape for DB RKs and a good accessory for RoG RGs.

if you exclude OCP/Kachua, you want to roll-back to the days of forced subscription to play the game?
how many people would even pay the money just to try the game or that server?

 

Did people just forget that era of iRo where it was free to play and the most "op" lootbox item was like Fallen Angel Wings? And also within that time frame had a rough equivalent available entirely independent of the kafra shop? Renewal started as free to play and despite not having the kind of loot boxes we have now made it up until the 175 update. There are other options then just return to subscription time and OP items, you got shadow gears, shadow gear enchants, refine tickets, costumes, costume stones and ancient hero weapons. Obviously we can't undo the current loot box mess but we can at least be mindful of the damage it has done.

Just acknowledge the man for god sakes, and the people asking about Fatal Menace. Just some hint you give a damn about your customers is all they need, you could at least be decent enough people to do that.

99% ppl here don't know how to have fun without OP -_-. Im in the same boat as you, a lot of characters, a lot of crap item, but enough to have fun.

Questions aren't dumb when things change at a fast rate.  Not to mention that resourcing information on Ragnarok Online is difficult because it's based on version and server etc.  So never feel bad for asking questions.  Even the longest of longterm players will seek out advice.

VIP isn't required for anything ultimately.  You shouldn't burden yourself with having to rely on the VIP buffs/ EXP/Item drop gains.  If anything one of the nicest perks to VIP is the free daily tokens and easier travel via NPCs.  But all of that is easily mapped out.  I wish they would offer smaller VIP boxes for people to just renew tokens as needed.  I think you can turn in Old Purple Boxes to the Token manager for 2 days but unsure how many times you can do that.

Having a plethora of characters is great because the way Ragnarok Online community is now is more of a long term play out.  When resets are given I usually go and fully reset my chars that I am not actively using all the time just to have the ability to restat and skill them as I want.  That way you can afford to try different combinations of specs and gears etc.  It really comes down to what you are after while you are playing and you can focus on something.

Optimizing is a good way to save effort and time but it shouldn't come at so large of an expense that you are forking over more than you care to.  This goes back to your first sentence where I said asking about things is and can be super important.  A lot of the times I see people making bigger investments in the wrong things off the bat thinking that they will have a stronger impact on their characters ( more damage etc).  But if you talk in some of the discord lobbies or find some people play the classes they can fill you in.

Wanted to clarify on the OCP items that none of the things inside this OCP has slots?

Is server up yet? i thought should be 7
