What did you people think about the woe nerf down to 40% damage? My guild thought it was kinda low. We used alot more pots becasue we can live threw more. I think they should up it to 50% and see how that goes.

It was fine the way they have done it, your supposed to bring supplies to such things so using pots is no excuse to up the damage again imho. More importantly it's supposed to be a guild activity so expected to be in groups/party and this reduction is helping force people to work together rather than running in one shotting everyone or a single character walking in and wiping out a whole guild to due his massive damage off one cast or a snap>GoH>snap>GoH etc. Posted Image

Though I still get one shot by Suras alot there was a few that one shot themselves with the help of SF lol Serves them right need to think before act and I still get 2-3 shot by 150 RGs but overall I'm happy with 40%.

P.s I'm only level 117 so no need to scream "OMGZ noob 1 shot or 2 shot L2PvP" etc. At 150 I'm quite sure I'll give alot of people a much harder time trying to rape me. Posted Image

I rather enjoyed the change. I lived more and the hard to kill classes still died. It puts more emphasis on working together to disable -> kill rather than just one shotting everywhere by yourself.

I didn't care for it. What's really needed is a reballancing of the classes. Not a blanket damage reduction to make moderate damage worthless in a fight and high damage adequate. Just about all the killing was left to a few classes when things got serious.

well hey, if we increase potting during WoE, then isn't that possibly going to bring inflation down, as players will need to either spend more money on white pots, or spend more time farming white herbs to give Alchemists a job?

What did everyone think about the New Reduction in WoE last night?

We had fun and a long battle with an alliance of similar size. It seemed more people were able to last longer, but we also noticed that many of the Warlok skills are almost worthless now.

What did others notice?

I love the new reductions! This really promotes teamwork like anything. Usually I would just die to a -_-ty RG from anywhere spamming pinpoint atk or vanishing point but now that doesn't work well cause it can be outpotted ( hmm or was that my new com at work?) my guild had to have a concentration to kill and we sync with each other real well. Kudos to teamwork! Gooooo nWO!

It is cool that they made people survive more, but it doesn't change the class imbalances which is why Suras, RGs, RKs, still rule WoE. While Warlock and Mechanics are still useless.

it was a step on the right direction. what do you expect? everyone dropping to magic left and right? warlocks are mob control, same as pre renewal. they are there to make you pot. if you MUST kill, go tetra vortex. it still one shots people.
I agree that mechs got nerfed, but they werent top killers anyway. give up on the hscr anything that moves mentality and try to support a bit. neutral barrier is fixed on iro, and its op as-_-.
the next step imo should be fixing the new status effects and making howling fully resistable. also make clearance work on everyone, allies and enemys, like it should be.

I think the new reduction is awesome. I saw lot of people potting not like before when everybody died in 1 hit. The next step is fix the status effects and not let the higher level be inmune to 15+ level difference players.

For the ones moaning really about using pots, like I said its supposed to be group/guild activity so bring a preist with you. I get impression people who used alot of white pots were those trying to solo castles which is related to how OP the old version was where due to such high damage a single class or character could solo it which isn't the point of WoE.

If your moaning about using pots due to not being one shot anymore just how did you manage to play WoE pre-renewal or even more so pre-trans where being one hit was rarer and fights lasted alot longer. Posted Image

Holy crap. I lived constant G-fist spam while on the stone. On a level 120 Chaser. Easily 10 or more fists...

I thought they were just really :Emo_14: Suras, I totally forgot about the damage thing.

I absolutely loved it. Strong players are still strong, but wayyyy less bull :Emo_14: one shotting. Still difficult to kill higher level players but the range issue is much, much more even.

I noticed a lot more priests at work which was good to see, and yes I used way more pots but so did my enemies. So it's much better all in all I find.

I think this change, coupled with FUTURE changes to skills mentioned throughout this thread, is going to make woe a lot better. Keep the reduction, and focus on skills now. In the meantime this will work as a bandaid for most of the players, now it's time to figure out long-term fixes for warlocks and some of the class-specific skills. Repeating myself - GMs continue to read the suggestions please!

I had alot more fun that WoE compared to previous ones, though we obviously still need class balancing but overall in grand scheme of things I would be perfectly happy to keep the % dmg reduction as it is now. I could still kill people even at level 117 and it actually took using stratagy like when crit locked can't use most of my skills so had to come up with other options or having to time what I was doing so Suras would not realise I was going to SF them just before GoH. Running into portal checking whats there running back out trying to plan action to take, I had no problem taking on lvl 150s in fact was one 150 RG I was struggling to beat but a third person came in started attacking me and thankfully since reduction meant wasn't one shotting me I had time to SF the RG I couldn't kill very easily and had the GX do it for me lol Posted Image Though the GX also killed me it was still ok.

Having time to stip mounts off RKs before they CS me to death makes a change or using Ignorance on classes that would normall kill me before I cast a single one, it's a step in the right direction and when they balance the classes will be back to fun WoEs for almost everyone. Like Heim said this is a temporary measure to improve WoE until they get around to finallybalancing the classes which I hope they do soon.

I liked the new reduction better than the previous one.

BUT :

a blanket damage reduction to make moderate damage worthless in a fight and high damage adequate.

I agree with this. The flat % reduction is very biased towards high % damage skills. My low % damage skills seemed very useless.
