Despite being an MMORPG, RO has the majority of players preffering to work solo for a variety of reasons - most from what I've seen working on their own 'till the 90s or later. Of course, interraction with other players is still actively buzzing outside of partying.

What's your take? Would you consider the game to be single-player experience? What depends on the scenario?

lol ludicrous analysis :U

I would say it can be either or. I play solo mostly because i hate sharing loot, but im all for a good party when the occasion arises.

In a word: Yes.

If you're one of the 5 classes that matter, you can level great solo, and don't want anyone else in your party as they're just slowing you down. You might party with each other, but even then, you'll all just be winging around solo, and using the small xp bonus for being *technically* in a party. Forming a real, cooperative value has exactly zero value.

If you're *not* one of those 5 classes, no one wants you in a party, or frankly, the game. If I log into my lock, I have people *in town* telling me I'm wasting my time on a failure of a class, and well... they aren't wrong.

The classes need to be rebalanced. The party share needs to be increased. We need monsters that are hard to kill, and worth it exp-wise. kRO refuses to do any of these 3 things, however, even the share increase which would require them to change a whole 10 rows in a database table.

Anyone who parties at this point is doing it purely to avoid the soul-crushing boredom of fighting the same monsters from 30-150, with nothing changing but the graphics and the size of the numbers being thrown around... and they're trading leveling speed to do it.

Currently RO is the largest MSORPG. I could have EASILY gotten to 150 by now just taking the exp events and running through maps solo but that is so -_-ing boring that it hurts.

For me, playing a game isn't so much about the end goal but the journey to that goal. I liked meeting new people, making friends, sharing ideas, working together for a common goal, etc. but all of that has been stripped away. AB's have given up on finding parties in droves and began making other chars. Just finding someone that will play one full time these days is a treat. But can't expect them to sit around pront town forever hoping party system will be revived.

Its more efficient to say the least. Buts its experience come from the multi-player aspect, i mean whose favorite moment in RO was the time you were all alone, I'm guessing there shouldn't be a lot

Well, my favorite gameplay moments were taking on crazy challenges in a party and managing to win. Renewal has destroyed all challenge, and penalizes you if you even try to find one.

Soloing is sooooo much fun if you don't have any friend. >_>
99% of my grinding time is with a friend. When I try to solo alone, I give up in -3 second.

Go out,
take chances,
talk to someone new,
You never know what the future will bring.

I prefer teamplay instead exp/hour. Well... I'm a warlock. I cannot win 100m/h like a Reflect RG at AL3.

Bio3's a challenge

But then I think making a mob tougher than most MVPs = 3x Venatu exp was kinda silly/stupid/astonishingly bad.

I'm not sure if anyone else had this experience, if RO was their first game: going to other online game, and in less than 5 minutes being around a field, a message like "XYZ has invited you to join their Team/Party/Squad/whatevername" then alt f4 freaked out.

That is how much RO taught me to party

I think the only time you absolutely NEED to party in the game is during instance dungeons, some mvp's and the odd event. Other than that you can probably solo the entire game with just you and an alt:P

sad day's these are~

To be honest, I've been playing mmos for over 10 years now (starting from Lineage 1 way back during jr.high).

I havent seen such a broken party system in any game i've played upto this point.

WHO WANTS TO PARY WHEN SOLO = 3X BETTER EXP?

I have 2 characters lvl 120+ and I havent been in a party prior, or since Ice titan events.

Maybe if Fly wings are disabled in field/dungeon, then some support classes could party up with melee/solo'ers to grind with but if that happens, i probably wouldnt even want to grind anymore.

I totally agree, the party system seriously needs to be evaluated in this game. Maybe the current system works in other countries but is sure as hell dose not work here. Seriously there should be no reason that a player soloing should gain more than a group. This only breaks down the main social element that holds together the majority of MMO games. Maybe if we complain enough we can get our localized changes to Renewal to include some sort of party system update. I am appalled that this was not one of the first things "fixed" about RO during renewal.

maybe i've just been into games that happens to have an atleast decent party system.. XD

but seriously, this games party system is broken beyond any other game ive ever heard of. cant believe they call it the "renewal"

Its almost as if the GM's and DEV's are more concerned what BOTS would ABUSE rather than how much of a negative effect it will have on USERs.

its like theyre in war with bots but their efforts are wasted in the wrong place.... because theyre losing as many players as the bots that are being banned. eventually they'll get the bot numbers down to >500, and so will the player numbers.

If you're amongst one of the few classes that can solo effetively and have lots of money to spend on healing items, this game is pretty much a single player experience with a chat system to talk to others.

RO needs more instance dungeon and other party focused activities. The idea behind being in a party is so that you can take on tougher monsters, but there isn't any point in trying to form a party to take on anything outside of an MVP thats' already being camped by a bunch of others. From what I can see, the party system is fine, what's broken is the exp bonus/penalty for killing monsters higher level than you are. I mean I totally understand that killing monsters lower level than you are should result in an exp penalty but being able to get 140% of the exp value on a monster that's 10 levels higher than you and only 40% of the exp for a monster 16 levels higher than you is kinda retarded.

I mean I understand that Gravity doesn't want people to abuse the exp system like we did pre-renewal taking on Anubis as a level 10 novice with a lvl 99 merc and I already know that I can kill certain monsters 100 levels higher than me in renewal with a 99 merc, but maybe just removing the 'bonus' entirely and extending it so that the exp penalty hits at 31 levels higher than the players level. That way there's an incentive to partying.

PS. While the fixes are being made, also fix kahii as it's totally broken. RG's shouldn't be able to use what's supposed to be a defensive skill to mob an entire map and kill things in a sustained format indefinitely.

You don't even need lots of zeny now ^^;. I use about 50k~100k zeny per hour of leveling on my chaser, using meat with double hellhound accessories + gympasses to make up for the weight. Several other people use icecream, the rideword hat for SP/HP and moonie dagger for SP, Kaahi...

you dont need to party when you have bot slaves with you. or dual client and have your buffer/linker/enchanter/whatever somewhere with you. you dont need to party when u can easily make/buy +9 gears and pots/yyg or whatever because you bought kp/zeny. its not just xp why people dont party, because its easy to party yourself.
