i am thinking about making a defi for pve. i have some questions about skills:
are the evasions buffs worth it?
is the illusion good? how many HP does it have? does it die from 1 hit?
is vampiric touch good for recovering HP? does it crit? what adds to recovered HP? MND and magic attack?
shape of fear has dot. does it stack with magic attack, etc. or it is what the skill description says?
same as above with rake nail?
blood moon skill description says "swing a staff or a wand...". so is it phys skill? and phys attack and crit is used to calculate damage?
bloody spear says it deals pircing damage. so same as above question.
is deadly bomb worth it with waiting 5 seconds for it to explode?
thanx :P

No!

Take level 1. It protects you from the first hit of many monsters. Some monsters use a stun as the initial attack - that's why it's good.

is vampiric touch good for recovering HP? does it crit? what adds to recovered HP? MND and magic attack?
I have only been in two PvP situations where I did use and succeeded with Vampiric though. I was lucky both time.

shape of fear has dot. does it stack with magic attack, etc. or it is what the skill description says?
All DoTs ingame are static. They are not affected, increased, or decreased by anything. Not even resist.

same as above with rake nail?
Defilers don't take Rake Nail because of the DoT, but because this is the most damaging instant skill they have. It's used during boss fights, some 1v1 situations, and when finishing off or rushing enemies. Use this rotation: Bloody arrow -> Rake Nail -> Bloody arrow. That way you'll do most initial damage.

blood moon skill description says "swing a staff or a wand...". so is it phys skill? and phys attack and crit is used to calculate damage?
Probably. I have never had any use of it. I've seen some people pop it while grinding. You can't be sure it will hit the amount it says, unless the monsters are standing very close to each other.

bloody spear says it deals pircing damage. so same as above question.
It means it goes through enemies if they are standing in a straight line. Think of it like an arrow. Also, I've noticed it reaches longer than the skill Arrow of Ruin. Example is in the Server vs. server map Path of Norns, where you use Arrow of Ruin and hit, let's say 4 people. If you were to use Bloody Spear in the same situation you would hit let's say 6 people if they were standing in a line.

is deadly bomb worth it with waiting 5 seconds for it to explode?
I haven't had any use of it in PvP. The damage is static, so it isn't increased. It's good for leveling up to 60 or so. However, it's awesome to use the skill on 10 monsters, use something like Fury right after, and then just quietly watch as they run around and suddenly blows up.

thanx
You're welcome! Don't hesitate to ask anything else ^^

Oh, I forgot to explain a few things.

The evasion buff adds lots of % to evade, but I haven't seen any difference during the tests I did. I haven't redone the tests at my current level, but the ones I did at 65 and 30 (Level 30 is when you can max this skill) with maximum DNA points in it too didn't make ANY difference at all.

Also, Rake Nail is the most damaging long-range instant skill. The short range most damaging instant skill is Curse Effect.

Would you like me to post a screenie or two, if I find them, where I've had use of Vampiric though in PvP situations?

To add to what Freja said, VT is int based and does crit. Its worth dropping 1 point in.

Oh, forgot that too. 1 point is definitely worth it if you take a few of the "More targets" DNA for it.

Also note, while in action, against 8 people, a skill like VT won't save you, if you take into account that each of those 8 people would have a chance to use one instant attack each on you. Those 8 attacks would be enough to nullify the healing effect VT would give you. Then there's nothing stopping those 8 people using a second instant attack.

Of course, if you have trapped 8 people, dropped all your primary AOE attacks, then you should use VT, no matter if you have full HP or not, since it still does some damage!

In the battlefield with the type "Strongest", where all people have the same type of gear, VT is more useful. In those maps it takes a lot longer to kill something, so you'll have plenty of time to use VT. There are also monsters inside this battlefield, so you can always use them to harness some chi!

i think evasion is alright for PvE but it does eat up alot of points. I find it helps against mobs given the class naturally has a high eva.

illusion is good for escaping mob hits wen Terms of Service lags.

VT - if you invest in AoE and some dna into faster casting time (must be abt 1.3 secs?) i find its not bad, especially if it crits on aoe. useful if you dont have IM healing items.

bloody spear - not that good. never seems to have a good enough damage range to invest in.

deadly bomb - hmm. i heard its bugged. so i dont know. i dont use it but then again im PvP.

vamp touch is great in pve, also did help alot in 65 foc. havent really tested it in highlvl foc, i kinda doubt its that useful there because most ppl have high resistances.

ofc when it misses, which it does, youre screwed.

for my hamm defi im using 1 point in VT, 6 in aoe dna, 10 to make it instant and 5 to reduce the cd a little.

thank you for all your help.
i mentioned it was for pve only, and as a matter of fact for farming only. my main is elem - so not much help in the farming department from him. and i need carus basics, but greedy people are asking 300 sometimes 400 thousand for it.
have said that, i will only need single target skills (bloody arrow and rake nail) for pulling only, so will only go beyond lvl 1 after useful aoe's are maxed out.

Since you're not gonna max the nukes could probably put the points in Deadly Bomb, would be another aoe to cast when everything else is on CD.
