Is AOE a must have for battle muse/mage?

Im honestly not a fan of AOE spells in this game, but should I start maxing out my AOE spells already? At what level is good to start pumping skill points into the AOE spells? For now, I have been pumping the right side tree (mana spear, etc) then after that I plan to max ice.

Your spinning AoE's are mandatory to be able to level up other skills.
(the ones in the middle of the tree)

Yes I would say it is. You need AOEs to kill mobs. They also help a lot in player versus player.

verrrryy usefull. seems to be a requirement in big mob parties to lol. i ended up maxing out to tornado :lol:

A Mage without AoE is like a Cleric without Buff it's useless in a party ^^

If your not a fan of AOE's then perhaps you should chose a different class char. Maybe a bow hawker or gun borg, someone who relies more on fast meelee.
