If you're at least job level 10 in the training grounds, speak to the Swordsman NPC lined up to the entire slew of others. Tell him/her that you want to become a swordsman and he/she'll transport you straight to the Swordsman Guild in Izlude. Once there, talk to the man behind the counter and he'll automatically change you into a swordsman. ^_^

Just talk to the NPC in the building in northwest Izlude and apply to become a Swordsman.
