So I haven't played in years so I can't remember anymore how to kill nightmares, marionettes and such. I only have a knight so far, so could anyone tell me how to go about this?? Do I need a card to put in a sword? or can I simply not kill them on my own?
Get an elemental weapon or and endow. They need to be hit with some kind of element since they are ghost, neutral element damage like with a normal weapon is ignored.

edit: I don't think Magnum Break endows fire to a weapon, does it? Or maybe I'm remembering this wrong...

They are ghost elemental. So you need to either endow your weapon with an element, equip a VVS elemental weapon, use elemental converters, or use Asperio to be able to deal damage to ghost elementals by making it so your weapon is no longer neutral element. Some skills however are "forced neutral" regardless of endow/elemental weapon/asperio. That's not something a Knight branch class has to worry about though, because they don't have such skills. Clashing Spiral does bypass ghost element even as neutral though, because it has a damage portion that doesn't rely on element or whatever.

Immaterial Sword or any weapon with an element. Look for forged weapons with an element in their names. Could also get a converter from a sage.
Thank you so much, I'm starting to remember buying them now!! Going sword shopping yay!

Yeah, but from what I was aware of, it didn't really "endow" your weapon with fire property for those 10seconds. It merely added a bonus damage in the case a monster would be weak to fire or something. So even if you used Mag Break, you wouldn't be able to hit ghost monsters since your weapon would still be considered neutral. I'll test it out quickly here and edit with an answer."20% fire property strength enhancement" for 10 secs
edit: Yeah, it doesn't endow your weapon with fire for those 10 seconds. It simply adds bonus damage. So don't go by that description. xD

They last about 2-3 minutes if I remember correctly.
