I really don't understand why I get so bored playing these classes. Maybe its cause I like to explore the maps and dungeons vs TI Quest idk.

 

I'm still playing around with Crusader's skill tree, tried GC and its a cool AoE but idk...there was something missing. So now im trying out the shield skills, which seems more fun to spam. Though Im really not sure how to set my stats while low lvl...if im going shield skills, do I need high dex? And does physical skills ever hit crit?

 

As Monk...lets jus say, i suffer playing as this Job. As soon as I get on as monk...im bored, instantly. But I really want to enjoy this character. I know that I wont be going for Asura Strike or that skill which drains all your hp because  I dont have the money for it but i will try it out it someday. So my question for the reader, how would you suggest I play Monk? Build and Skills plz. I don't want to be bored of this character.

crusaders cannot use shield skills for leveling; if you're gonna solo you either go GC or spear quicken.  as a paladin, i believe rapid smiting does decent damage, but most royal guards are spear build for soloing as the GC tree for royal guards is pretty restrictive.

 

asura strike is the same thing as guillotine fist btw.  as a monk, fastest way to level is to go agi build and combo skills.  trifecta (passive) -> quadruple blows (active) -> raging thrust (active) to quickly kill mobs.  however, monks do not have aoe abilities so it will be a lot of killing 1 and a time unless you tank for TIs (so get Mental Strength).

 

seems like you're having issues sticking with a class though, since you were initially playing a knight  not that there's anything wrong with that.

For monk, I actually dont mind single target slaughter, since my assassin and hunter are built that way. But would 30 Luk and some crit gear/cards be beneficial or should i jus stick with chick/snake hat. And for gears, should i invest in cards that do supplemental dmg? Also, what weapon should I main with because I do have a variety from stunner, haiti claw, berserk, nemesis, grand cross..etc. I have a whole bunch of knuckle weapons, even the sura glove thing.

 

BTW my knight does depend on brandish spear. I jus have 2H Quicken and Murasame along with i think earthdeleter card to restore my sp. I jus don't know where to grind at the moment with him. Currently Lv 71 leveling in Comodo with Stalactic Bounty. This weeks TI is a little harsh for low lvl party.

I felt really good when I made it to AB..and my sniper was 4 levels away from 3rd Class. lmfao I had to start all over....man it sucked ant eggs. lol

Since you have a wide variety of weapons to choose from, use the one that can exploit elemental weaknesses of the monsters you're fighting against. So fire stunner vs earth mobs, wind stunner vs water mobs etc.

 

As for your knight, 71 is just right for the Al de Baran and Juno eden quests (71-85 range). Take both quests in eden from the board, talk to npcs in Al de Baran (the Clock tower guy is a bit west of the kafra and the grampa for Juno is at the north exit of Al de) and hack away. Should be pretty awesome xp.

 

Your second option is the Bounty Boards in Juno. I suggest Goats and Grand Pecos (use a water element weapon vs them) since Sleepers and Harpies can be a tad too much for the low 70s. If you're sporting good equips and/or the scroll mercenaries, you can take all four just be careful not to get swarmed by big mobs.

putting on a chick/snake hat is bad for monks because it overrides raging trifecta blow and you cannot chain combos off of double attack.  same deal with luk, crit overrides RTB as well so no point in getting a lot of luck.  if you want to get to 99 asap as a monk you would want an agi/str/dex build.  AFAIK, eden gears are more than sufficient to get to 99 with so you don't need anything special to level with.  if you can't get your hand on converter scrolls an ele fist/mace set is always beneficial.  use the corresponding ele vs whatever you're fighting.  if doing juno bounty boards you'd use ice for pecos and goats, fire for sleepers, and earth for harpies.

 

btw, glove of shura isn't a weapon, can't be used till 130 and is only beneficial if you have base 120 str.

If you are bored with monk, you could always try buying autocasting gear  (i.e. reflect [high orc] shield + CD in mouth + various other autocasting gears) and fly wing around with mental strength on. Its definitely flashy and if you have a turn in that doesn't debuff you, you'll definitely get some fast exp by soloing with autocast. It also opens up any build you might want to try as sura because autocasting doesn't require much except some VIT and INT (which is a primary stat) and maybe some potions. Only problem is the cost but if you can get over that then you're good to go.

 

Also, monks are pretty much only tanks until they become suras where they gain their trademark skills that can instantly kill people and can participate in PVP, WoE, MVP and anything else u want.

For Monk Class, Necrohealiac said the "Agi/Str/Dex" build would be fastest to get to lv 99 quickly. Would this build still tank using 'MS' in TI ?

 

As for this question..i know it may be irritating and monotnous but im not getting the answer that im satisfied with so im going to rephrase it.

   - If im not going to use the combo skills and jus sticking with the passive from Lv. 10 RTB (Raging Trifecta Blow) [***forget crit and luk stats***], and all i want to do is jus basic attack, even though the passive from Double Attack doesn't stack or proc with RTB, wouldn't I still benefit by having both passives?

   - Do autocast skills/gear activate only with basic attacks or can they activate/proc with passive and/or active skills?

Answer to your first question would be yes. You would still be Ms ranking for tis

As for your next it would be no. You'd be better off using some other hat. I suggest getting the morrigane set its become quite cheap now for the perfect dodge and you can both basic ATTACK and tank using it

And only ATTACK can proc skills not skills when it comes to autocast gears

Exception: Two skills (Provoke, Absorb) are treated as non-skill attacks, so those could proc while-attacking autocasts. In addition, hits from reflect count as non-skill attacks, so a reflect shield or something similar can proc while-attacking autocasts, too.
