this just started happening today.  strangely enough the font on my browser on the wp forums also looks a little off.  anyone know what could be the possible cause?  i have the latest video drivers and haven't touched any settings whatsoever.

I'm having this same issue. I tried switching from standard to cleartype and the result was that my text in browser appeared worse with cleartype selected and the issue with RO didn't change at all. My font in RO looks identical to Necro's screenshots.

 

I'm using Windows Vista service pack 2 on an ancient (2009) laptop. There was a Windows Update I applied last night (security updates only) and so far RO is the only program I've noticed having font issues. Not sure if this is related to today's maintenance or not.

interesting.  i suspect it's has something to do with that update since i have vista as well.

 

is the warp portal forum view a little funky too for you?  it's weird for me (notice how the font looks juuuuuust a tad too small-using chrome).

The fonts on the front page have always looked small and cramped together for me. I also checked the forums on a different computer that's running Windows 7 and the fonts on the forums look about the same. Using Firefox for my browser as it has less font problems than chrome (an issue that I think is common with Vista). This is the first time in memory that I've had a font issue in a game. I'm not so sure I want to reset my graphics card or even update (if necessary) at this point since RO is the only game that's having this issue.

 

I should add that the computer running Windows 7 is not having the ingame font issue.

The solution was to repair a broken font that another update butchered. I wonder if the Windows Update messed up a font file.

Anyone know which font RO uses?

i found this on stackexchange.  uninstall the update and reboot your pc and it should be back to normal.  i'll be trying this tonight when i go to bed.

Hmm so i fixed it but my pc automatically install it again after few hours.

just disable automatic installation of windows updates.  just check periodically to manually install other critical updates.

Thanks for that link, I've been checking it every few days and they finally have a fix for this update.

Here is a link to the fix: https://support.micr....com/kb/3037639

The download option provides 3013455 and 3037639. If you uninstalled 3013455 then you have to run that one first. If you still have 3013455 then all you need to download is 3037639, run the update and restart when prompted. My fonts are fixed and all security updates applied, I can rest easier now if I wander off to an unknown website.
