ok, i was training in orcs (left overlook because of that pet fiasco) and found a wiz having a party of 3 following him doing janeway.

 

he said he's from chaos, and thinks its ok to use bot for janeway with autofollow. is it true?? unless he's doing that manually?? is it possible??

 

the acolytes use bless and heal when hit while he's moving and casting spells. i got a replay file here. thor server.

you do not need botting programs to just have chars autofollowing you, so there's nothing inherently wrong with having a bunch of alts following your main around a map.

HOWEVER, if they're also casting spells and such while on the move, then that is illegal. you can alt tab and manually buff your chars, but that breaks the autofollow and you would need to re-follow your main. it's very easy to tell the two apart.

its easy to know if its a bot since autofollow via dual client, the following char always moves one cell to the right, as for bots, well they dont really do that

 

 

as for the replay file, i think posting stuff like that is kinda illegal iirc

you can do those with 4 accounts non stop?? and the acolyte casting buffs while you are moving and casting spells?? ugh, i don't know. i can do it with 2. 1priest and 1killer and i have to stop constantly. his chars are non stop

i can easily do 2 chars autofollowing the main with no issues, and even 3 if I'm feeling adventurous. as i mentioned above, the casting buffs while on the move is likely indicative of the person using a botting program of some sort and you should report it in a support ticket.

Targeted spells (bless/agi/heal) will break auto-follow. a buff like Gloria or Angelus will not.

Not typically. I think they are making a point that not all "following" characters are bots before people raise the pitch forks and start over reporting legit things.

i can do 4, since its easy to buff using blacksmith buffs + arch -_- buff w/c you dont really need to click target

aha ok, i just sent a ticket, sry about that replay file. i just thought that making a lot of high lvl chars fast with janeway is easy enough, and they still do that. if any mod can close this topic then, thanks.

You can easily do this with a dual monitor setup and good reflexes.

I'm skeptical that all these autofollow buffers i encounter are all running dual monitor setups and possessed of cat-like reflexes.

Of course, all of them can't possibly have that. But it's a bit unfair to conclude that all people who can manage 2 characters are just running bots.

my primary issue is that the autofollow is totally broken after i buff. i usually need to do the /nc toggle to get autofollow working again; that would be result in a pretty obvious delay to any observer. a completely seamless transition is suspect imo. I'd be impressed to see someone pull it off.

I can have my AB auto follow me and alt tab while moving and hit party spells, but if you try to do regular casts it will stop auto following which is a pain... It IS possible to do manually with party spells but not regular casts.

Reading all these comments makes me feel like a noob when it comes to dual clienting. Every time I make a character auto follow me i keep losing it. I either outrun it or it gets stuck behind obstacles. i have to go back and sometimes the auto follow breaks so i have to switch clients again which takes me a few seconds. and that is only for two clients. what more if its like what op said. 3 autofollowers.

 

I didnt get a chance to see the video but I think it is easier to say that those are bots. Like come on how many people here have super mutant cat like reflexes?

but its mostly just controlling a killer and an AB, the other 2 are really just autofollowing and sometimes cast strings ect..

But yeah, even I do keep several clients on autofollow. I remember I once had 8 alts autofollow me for Xmas quest, and someone accused me of botting just because they were all following my main char, who was doing the killing. Don't be too quick to accuse someone of botting just from that~

I believe we are referring to an acolyte here, therefore single target buffs which will require you to click the target and break the autofollow.

If you see someone taking an action on two characters simultaneously, then it's probably a bot. As in if his aco is buffing him without the "lead" char so much as stopping for a second. Also the timing of the buffs. Bots, I imagine, have a timer for that; and they use the next skill in very fast succession. Normally you would expect to have some delay between each buff, even though it may not have an actual skill usage delay.

Button 1 = Alt TAB F3 Alt TAB  idk... Never set up macros like that before.

Hadn't considered the possibility of macro's. So yeah, pretty much impossible to tell if bot or not I guess.

you can use macros to cast single bless/agi/heal on another char without breaking autofollow? not talking about the group buffs like clementia/praefatio/gloria which won't break autofollow anyway.
