If you are new to RO, this may be for you.

The True meaning of Assassin Class:
"A character highly specialised in speed for killing intend, kill or be killed"

High Dodge ability, 40 extra flee than any other class.
Double attack ability with daggers, double the fun.
Ability to wear weapon on left and Right Hand. (mainly daggers and swords)
Ability to vanish into thin air, "cloak mode engaged". Unlike Rogues, your movement speed is much higher when being invisible.
Your walking speed is slightly higher than any class without a mount (unbuffed)
Katar weapon doubles your crit rate.
Enchant Poison give head start against neutral reduction and advantage against fire elemental,brute and insect enemies. (poison is a kind of water.. heh)

You may play this class if you are a griefy player that strike from the shadow.
This class is recommend for those who newly start RO without any gear at all. Due to the fact that building your character with all your passive skills you will enhances your little warrior in god like speed..
really?
With minimal efford you can gain a Good Amount of FLEE with undershirt and pantie with a couple zeny.. oh really?. This is one golden reason why you should start this class if you are new to Ragnarok. Assassin class do not require an expensive equipment to be a fast leveler. Buy a couple of Jahmahdah[0]s from Morroc and upgrade it to +8 with ease, you will be better than most.. a cheap trick?

This class are not meant to be laugh at, you can do a lot more when you ascend to higher job classes.
Most professional GX player actually did not have GX as their main class, due to that it was so god damn easy to play with with al flashy moves and that !! .. oh wow


There are 3 main types of GX, a Crit type, and a dual Wield type, and a Base Character (which you can adjust with gear accordingly)
A crit type generally get around 40+ crit rate, which means 80 crit when using a Katar class weapon.

These is what I may recommend, however you may change the stats/skill points according when there are room.
I will provide plenty of room for you customisability, don't worry ;D

Basics of your Crit Assassin :

If you use a Katar get level 10 katar mastery.
Sonic Blow may not be necessary, but desirable. (Crit will do more DPS)
Poison React increases your DPS. Also counters some enemy attacks. Best to have at level 10, if you cannot - then don't get it.
Grimtooth is desirable when you want to kill 5+ mob at once. (Dex requred)
Enchant Poison, very desirable, some monster are weak to poison. This will help with out leveling.
Cloak, Speed is sufficient at level 8. Any higher is desirable.

Crit base stats:

51-71 str
81-91 agi
11-21 vit
0-11 int
31+ dex
71-91 luk

Basics of your Dual Wield Assassin :

Maximum Left-Right Hand Mastery
Poison React increases your DPS. Also counters some enemy attacks.
Grimtooth is very desirable, since you have high Dex.
Enchant Poison, very desirable, some monster are weak to poison. This will help with out leveling.
Cloak, Speed is sufficient at level 8. Any higher is desirable.

DD base stats:

71-81 str
81-91 agi
11-21 vit
0-11 int
71+ dex
41-51 luk


Basics of your ALL Assassin Cross:

Very similar to previous build on Sin, however you MUST have level 5 Advance Katar Mastery. (yes you may have katar mastery level 7, no a big deal.)
You MUST have level 5 Enchant Deathly Poison
Soul Destroyer and Meteor Assault, I advice NOT to max them both. Have maxed-out one or the other..
Sonic Blow level 10 is needed to access to cross impact in the 3rd class tree


Basics of your ALL Guillotine Cross:


You will need Venom Impress
For all WoE types GX, you will need Cloaking Exceed. Willing not to at your own risk.

Stat variations:
GX class has many stat build variation, but most importantly skill has a bigger role of character framework.


variation one; Base GX (specialised with gears, these are rough guildlines)
This means you can go with two Rouge's treasure and become a Crit build
A Sword + Ice pick, you become a CI build
HP% gears becomes a tank.
ASPD boost gear and becomes a breaker.

str 91+
agi 91+
vit 71+
dex 71+
int 11+
luk 61+

variation two; Sword/dagger CI:
str 120
agi 91-100
vit 71+
dex 81-100
int 11+
luk 51

variation three; Emp Breaker:
str 81+
agi 110-115
vit 77(exactly 77 with bonuses)
dex 71-91
int 11+
luk 51+

variation four; Human Breaker:
str 81+

vit 95(100 with job bonus)
dex 41-51
int 11+
luk 61-100

variation five; Poor man's critter:

GX skills:
Venom Impress: level 5
Research poison level 9, if not don't get it at all.
Poison Weapon: level 5 (you can still use pre-brewed GX poison form other GX's)
Antidote: optional (You decide when every GX has poisons)
Venom Pressure: desirable (I'm sure that couple fast crit will do some infestation on your target anyway)


Cross impact: nothing wrong with level 3, if you are a Crit type. (you only lose 100% of the skill mod).

Leveling wise:
Rolling cutter 5 -or- counter slash 5. Counter Slash can be used with any weapon, while Rolling Cutter is Katar only
Reliability- Rolling Cutter is overall better, while Counter slash will need to have a wait to trigger (may die otherwise).
Poison Smoke: Never

Your first 10 recommended job points:
VI 5
RC 5

-or-

CI 3
RC 3
VI 4


Hallucination Walk: DO NOT go straight and add points to this skill at early job. Due to that it is a very deep tree. Try spend ... wisely

What level weapon blocking is sufficient enough to mob with?
If you are job point starve, but has counter slash 5, you are good with blocking 3 or above

Leveling Spots:

Strictly speaking, it is not the monster you kill. It is how fast you can kill that mob to get certain exp.
Strictly speaking, Use the ingame MAP as a rough guide of your leveling spot. You can go 15 level difference from you and your mob (lower and higher)

As a Crit Build, you must decide if it is right for you to dodge effectly vs. "I am killing this fast enough?"
As a DD Build, you must decide if your DEX is high enough to hit it vs. "I am killing this fast enough?"

If you take more than 5 seconds to kill a mob, there is something wrong ! (< this guild line works from level 1 to 120)

What are the High End Gears for this Class???

Thief:
Ice Pick - damage increases depend on opponent's defence

Assassin:
Infiltrator[0] and [1] - increase weapon damage by 50% against demi-human and players
Carnage Katar (level 3) (valor)- increase weapon damage by 75% against demi-human and players, 20% increase on overall crit damage(can be obtained from battle grounds)
Glorious Jamadhar (level 4) - increase weapon damage by 75% against demi-human and players (can be obtained from battle grounds)


Elemental katars:
Katar of Frozen Icicle
Katar of Quaking
Katar of Raging Blaze
Katar of Piercing Wind

These Katar are best to be slotted with such a method will enable 3 card slots. Best cards to use are:
Katar of Frozen Icicle - Vadon Card(+20% against fire)
Katar of Quaking - Mandragora Card(+20% weapon damage against wind)
Katar of Raging Blaze - Kaho Card(+20% weapon damage against earth)
Katar of Piercing Wind - Drainliar Card(+20% weapon damage against water)

SinX:
Chakram [2] - Best use with meteor assault (not widely used, not recommend)
Drill Katar [1] - Best use with higher flee enemy, but Mummy card (+20 hit) may be more desirable.
Wild Beast Claw [1] - Cheap, great for over upgrades

Guillotine Cross:
Durga[1] (level 4) - has 190 weapon attack

Professional Weapon Cards:
Mobster Card(weapon) - Increase OVERALL critical attack by 15%
The Paper Card(weapon) - Increase OVERALL critical attack by 20%, drain 1-sp per crit
Zipper Bear Card(weapon) - +30 weapon attack
Hydra Card(weapon) - 20% extra weapon damage against Demi-Human/player
Memory of Thanatos Card - (ICE PICK EFFECT) very very rare

Porcellio Card(armor) - +25 weapon attack
Alicel Card(armor) - +10 flee
Whisper Card(garment) - +20 flee
Orc Baby Card (garment) - +10 flee +10% neutral resis, 15 for both if +9
Raydric Card(garment) - +20% neutral resistant

cheap desirable cards:
Andre(weapon) - +20 weapon attack
Skeleton Worker(weapon) - +15% to medium monster, +5 weapon attack
Picky(armor) - +10 weapon attack
harpy(armor) - 15% neutral resis


Accessories:
Medal Of Honour (obtain by battle ground). +5% attack Flee +10 HP300 SP80
Bloodied Shackle Ball, +50 Weapon attack (when paired with Shackle)
Rogue's Treasure, HIT+10 FLEE+10(if str 90+). ATK+10 CRIT-RATE+10(if agi is 90+)

Defence vs Weight of your armor
"The heavier armor you wear, the less potion you are able to carry"

What are the main Crit Gears?
Cursed Brooches(acces) - 6% crit
Morrigane's Belt(acces) - 3% crit

Rogue's Treasure(acces)- 10% crit
Soilder Skeleton card(weap) - 9% crit
Kobold Card(acces) - 4% crit 1+str
Mobster Card(weap) - Increase OVERALL critical attack by 15%
The Paper Card(weap) - Increase OVERALL critical attack by 20%, drain 1-sp per crit


Where DO I BECOME A THIEF???
Go to Morroc, head to North West. Then further north west you will see a pyramid and red head Kafra..
Enter the Pyramid and try and run to the centre of the maze, There is a portal there.
Once you entered this portal, head to left wing of the map. Talk to 2 npc, they tell you everything..


Where DO I become an Assassin?
Assassin Guild is in moc_fild16. Check the inGame Map if you need to. Also "/where" in the chat box will bring up your current location.
To enter the Assassin Guild, you have to go to the highest place of that map..

Very nice, you might throw in a little bit about why you play the class and what an assasin's role is in the game. Also, 'where to level' or 'what kind of things to hunt'would probably be very useful for new sins!

Really love this guide. Oh yah i saw a Guillotine Cross walk pass me with hallucination walk in magmaring map. It has really awesome graphic. Me and my friend have the same reactionwas like "Omg...ooooh wow what's that skill?...awesome graphic"

I think you are asking about Guillotine Cross so will answer that. The job path is as follows

Novice > Thief > Assassin 99/50 > Guillotine Cross DO NOT GO THIS ROUTE, you will not get some GREAT skills and will be weaker in HP/SP and stats.


Novice > Thief > Assassin 99/50 Transcend (aka Rebirth) > High Novice > High Thief > Assassin Cross 99/70 > Guillotine Cross.

Going this route gives you 25% more HP/SP, gives you 52 more Stat points to spend, gives you access to Skills like Enchant Deadly Poison, Soul Destroyer, Meteor Assault and more as well gives you 70 max job lvl.

Anyone who tells you not to rebirth before going Guillotine Cross is NOT your friend. Check out link below to irowiki.org's page on this.

EDIT: You can see in my sig I have 8 chars listed and I have actually Rebirthed them all and you can see from some of the dates that it doesn't take long to get them back up in level. Example is my Sniper, I rebirthed him on May 27 I believe and already he is back up to lvl 79/39. I actually rebirthed my bottom 5 guys on the same day (just in case they put the fee back in) and you can see that my Mage and Aco are back upto lvl ~40ish as well in the same period of time.

A DD Sin doesn't need Luck at all to begin with. They need all the Str/Dex/Agi they can get. Even if there were optional stat points, they should put those into Vit for aiding in their survival. Crits are overwritten by Double Attack as well. The only reason I'd think about getting Luck is if I wanted to add "some" extra damage to my physical attack or for a slight boost in Perfect Dodge.

Just a question about the CI build that uses Sword/Dagger if you leveled with CI wouldn't you need more Int for the regen or will 11 be enough?

Other than Lucky Dodge GX that utilizes dual Fortune Daggers, almost no reason to get LUK as a dual dagger, unless maybe you are using Arc Angeling mid and need the 100% regen effect you get for having 77 LUK.

Also, I kinda find it troublesome to Venom Impress enemies during WoE. It's a bit troublesome to get yourself detected rather than just attacking them head-on with EDP and they don't know what's coming. Also, if I Venom Impress, I tend to use more Blue Pots than usual because Cloaking Exceed isn't exactly cheap to maintain.

It's the same way when you play as a Chaser. The best time to Divest/Masquerade Venom Impress is to do it while in a crowd where people won't notice you as much. You're basically playing as a support+killer while blending in with the crowd to minimize danger to yourself. This holds true for GX's who refuse to weapon/shield switch out a Katar for a Dagger/Shield for that extra reduction when applying poisons.

Sir !! no offence.. but u forgot 1 more build which exist.. called survival build .. having maxed out only 120 agi & 120 vit(or what ever stats are remaining) can be done till u are level 135 .

excuse me sir, im really new to ragnarok, i just need this to clarify coz im level 94 assassin and i know how to rebirth but after that do i need to start all over again just like in the beginning as a high thief? like start hunting low level monsters? coz im really confused about after rebirth.

Short answer is yes.

After you hit 99/50 as an Assassin you will deffinitly want to Rebirth (aka Transcend). This process will reset your character back to level 1/1 High Novice.

HOWEVER right off the bat you get 100 stat points to spend unlike a normal novice that gets 48 (this is why they can start with 5 each stat or 9 for three of them) and can also spend them however you like. You also get a 25% HP/SP bonus that stays with you permanently.

You then proceed like before except when you get to Job 10 as High Novice you talk to the Thief job change guy and you instead become a HIGH THIEF and you also get all 4 quest skills right away (Stone pick/fling, Backslide and Sand Atk). You then level your High Thief upto Job 40-50 (Don't be lazy and just goto 50) then you have to go back to where you rebirthed just before the angel and talk to the Assassin Cross (SinX for short) their to change job. You then Proceed to level up your SinX to 99/70 then you can become a GX (Guillotine Cross)

Quick Guide to 150/50.

sin-sinx: DO TURN-INS IN A PARTY LOL. You can solo to level but its not as efficient. Get a Morri set and be a puller with 2 fortune swords. Just get to GX plain and simple. Save some zeny for a Rideword, Nid, Hunter Fly Card, Wild Beast Claw or Durga.

GX: Equip the hunter fly card in katar of choice. Put on the rideword and nid. Level using Rolling Cutter. Use converters for extra dmg when possible. DO THE TURN-INS solo or in a party. More exp if you solo but I understand if you can't afford it. If you can't get a rideword you are going to use more pots. Think of it as a investment that will help you save zeny anytime you level any character now or in the future(except warlock or sorc). Once you get past the 125 range you will need to start using edp if you want to level fast. I know it sucks but leveling any other way past the 125 range is way less efficient without edp. Without edp in places like abyss, scarab hall, bio 2, etc... is unwise. The rideword, nid and hunterfly card will not proc enough return hp/sp to keep you alive without the edp. You can also solo those maps with edp meaning you will get way more exp.

Before anybody complains I know that this way is not the cheapest. Rideword is expensive. Nid and durga/wild beast claw are cheaper. I know edp is not cheap as well. I just think this is the quickest/easiest way to do it if you have the option. :waddle:

I know there are other ways to level. I don't critisize people if they think its rediculous to level this way. Just adding my two cents lol. :mellow:

A +9 KVM Katar and Rudolf Hairband+Rideword Hat combo can be used as a substitute for EDP if you can't afford the constant use of EDP. 193aspd Rolling Cutter spam is god.

Since you put Thanatos card up there which is very rare you might wanna add Samurai Specter card too I think its a very good card for assassin types it just has a bad drawback but worth it if you can pot up. Also might wanna add krishna to the list of katars that Sinx's could use cause if you can get link you can melee things a lot faster since the auto SB procs a lot
Good guide BTW I think it is really helpful for people just starting out w/ their assassin types

Rolling Cutter Question:
They say crit builds go RC to clear mobs..so RC does not need any dex to hit its targets? or are they talking about equip crit builds with no luk but lots of dex?

Any RC build will still need a fair amount of DEX. LUK gives HIT too but not nearly enough. CRIT or natural crit oriented builds will still have around 60-70 DEX when they are level 150 to effectively use any skills, with maybe 90 LUK max for the heroic backpack 90 LUK bonus. A good midway build to aim for would be 90 STR, 90 AGI, 90 VIT, 60 DEX to use RC effectively and for heroic backpack bonuses. You can increase LUK or DEX after that, depending on what path you choose. You can also choose to increase the 90 stats to 100-105 too.

rogue's treasure only looks at base str/agi (90+). are you thinking about arc angeling card? that one is base luk 77

rogue's treasure only looks at base str/agi (90+). are you thinking about arc angeling card? that one is base luk 77

lol, that's a name of japanesse restaurant...omg i think RT take effect from luk too...how abouts 60 maybe in a luk then put in int for some sp??so i can do CRS and Crit at the same time...
