1) Have been botting for almost 9 months
2) All bot never use macro
3) All bot use very cheap gear for botting
Ymir
# of bot: 23
min life time: 1 week
max life time: 9 months (still alive)
avg life time: 2 months
Valk
# of bot: 78
min life time: 3 weeks
max life time: 9 months (still alive)
avg life time: 4.5 months
Conclusion
1) GM more likely catch bot in Ymir by patrolling and then catch the alt account by server log
2) GM more likely catch bot in Valkyrie by server log (GM rarely do patrolling in Valk since there is too many of bot to patrol)
Note: For studying purpose only!!

How do you know whether or not a bot is banned based on server logs?

Interesting. I think this clearly demonstrates the need for more aggressive bot removal efforts.
How do you know whether or not a bot is banned based on server logs?
With all respect, but, I can not tell you the procedure. When botters ask GM "how you catch me?", GM never answer that question. I believe we both know the reason why these type of question can not be answered.

Ah, so it couldn't be revealed without giving away information that would allow the GMs to improve their procedures? With all respect, but, I can not tell you the procedure. Obviously not. If they even knew the game they managed...

To naseefc: They can get him by the IP address which then can see what warpporal accts and what iro accts he has accessed. I already know how they catch botters its rather simple, Most have a setup where they go to storage stuff and they always go to the same spot every single time, no player is that precise to the co-rd over days and days of trips, There are otherways too, bots almost always take the same path across maps when moving from one map to the next, and I mean the EXACT same, I have followed one walking between maps and noticed this. How they loot is a way a player can verify if its a bot too.
If they don't reply to PM's/chat doesn't count exactly. Some people who don't bot level with chat off so they won't see PM's etc so they can focus on the grinding, and they might miss general chat if you right in front of them too. though its less likely.

My friend, each bot has its own ip and so does the account for posing in this forum. I believe they don't waste their time tracking my ip. Furthermore, my intention is just do an experiment and present the stat chart. I don't support botting. To naseefc: They can get him by the IP address which then can see what warpporal accts and what iro accts he has accessed. I don't support botting.
Well then you are extremely thorough tester considering you say you've done this for 9 months and don't support doing this.

The current system sucks. Unless they make any changes it will always be this way, -_-ty and bot filled.
Things they could do (but won't):
(1) Hire actual people to play and check all field maps. Make this their only job, to catch and ban bots.
(2) Hire more people to respond to bot reports on the support page (Also fix the damn support page so it doesn't take 10 years to load )
(3) Have a program to log people who are on for ridiculous amounts of time and monitor them
(4) Use an anti bot program. They say "blah blah blah causes more problems for actual players", but have they even tried?
I hate bots in case you can't tell... Especially ones of the spamming variety

What were their levels at each months? What level were the bots when they got caught by GMs?
How many bots were alive by the end of each month?
And with the conclusion, bot hunting should prioritize on the highest level characters (130+) or mid-high level areas that have very high potential zeny returns.
