Yes, I did the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) thing and I'm still getting this error.

Looks like you are using the old client. Try downloading the new one and use that to play.

That's the 13.2 Renewal client. Hence "Okay, what's this mean? Character size error, renewal client"

You're using the renewal client to connect to a pre-renewal server. The new client contains an executable for the old server as well (valkyrie or ragnarok, for valk or ymir respectively)

You're right. So I guess I have to wait for renew to hit to access my old characters on the old server? Only a couple days away so I suppose it can wait.

No, look in the RO folder where the new client is. There are several client executables. You want "ragnarok" for ymir, and, well, whatever it's called for Valk.

They use the same login server, and in a few days, ymir will be accessed through the renewal client.
