So I've been browsing around the Wiki and the interwebs, and stumbled upon this very interesting read from the iROwiki forums. The original link is here: http://forums.irowik...ead.php?t=49821 , although I've decided to copy and paste to contents so you guys don't have to open a new tab or window.

The RO Lore and the stories behind each quest is so incedibly awesome, and I hope to see more of the following very soon!

No, the following story/speculation is not mine. Credit goes to the OP on the original link. Feel free to discuss :P

Might want to use a spoiler and not a quote so people won't have to scroll all the way down.

Yeah the bio story is pretty good. Most of the stories in RO are actually very well written. The problem lies in the fact that there is no single comprehensive source for people to follow RO lore, and that most people (myself included) just skip through (most) npc chat texts in game.

I find bio lab story is very interesting, I would like if it was thoroughly explained in game instead of just giving hints of what actually happened.

I'd read this elsewhere, but it's always a joy to stumble back across it. It would be nice if the story could be expanded upon. *coughcough*

I wonder if these new Bio-monsters will have the same sort of in-game roots that the previous ones did.

Or you guys could do the quests yourselves and actually read the NPC Chats instead of lazily skipping them all. People who make those excuses tend to be the ones that haven't done unrewarding long Episode Quests like "Peace for Arunafeltz." The Sign quest is actually really interesting in terms of story, but most people just skip through all the NPC text just so they can get The Sign and access to Geffenia. From there they complain the story "was not interesting" or "skipped through all the NPC dialogue." *rant rant rant*

You said it.

Often times, NPC's are put in area's where there's monsters that could kill you if you took the time to read through the quests. I've made it a general practice for this very reason, to not attempt to read npc texts. Yes it does make it more epic to read the text in game while going through it all, it's not always practical.

The irony is that even if we were to make these long and dangerous quests more rewarding than they originally were, people would just come and go by skipping the NPC dialogue instead of reading them anyways.

ive always read the quest dialogs... but sometimes unless you write down each piece of the conversation things can get muddled due to the long collecting parts (360 coral reefs for the sign quest) or things like the frustrating dancing part... you ultimately begin to lose focus of the story

I normally look at the quest outline and collect all required materials before actually doing the quests. I understand what you mean when it comes to quests that require item collection.

Ditto what TK said. And I just noticed on the WW set is the Icarus guild, and the Archer in Biolabs 2 is named.. Kavach Icarus?

A long shot, I know, but still :P (and yes I know Icarus is in the Greek Mythology and flew too close to the sun and lost his wings etc - maybe hence 'WW suits' or something)

I hadn't made the connection between Kavach and the White Wing set.

Kudos to you for pointing that out. ♥

Also: Wickebine from the Blacksmith Job Change quest [assassin], and the mob Wickebine Tres [thief]--

Posted Image vs. Posted Image
Is there a connection there, aside from the exact same name [surname excluded] and job type? ;o

EDIT:

Also, is the 'murder mystery' quest, picked up as a Thief, that involves following a trail of poison, a nod towards Eremes?

:o kudos to you too for that! That's awesome what you found!

And I haven't done the murder mystery yet, so I'll look into that in the near future hopefully xD
Not sure about the Wickebine connection though! Although, as a longshot again, it could be possible that she escaped the labs (it's only 2nd floor/1st floor anyhow) and then became an assassin? :P or maybe Eremes helped her out... *cue dramatic 'oooooh'* :P

EDIT: It was mentioned by the OP that the monsters may be 'clones' of people we've met. It can also be that it's the clone of the Wickebine in the BS quest, but the cloning failed and therefore the clone stays as the first class. IDK :P

Oh what mysteries! :o I'll have to look around a bit. Maybe there's some dialogue that hints at Wickebine's relation to Wickebine Tres. The escape from Biolabs sounds plausible to me, considering the class' expertise in espionage and sleuthing. Another guess would be that "Wickebine" is actually a surname, and was left untranslated (surname + given name = / = given name + surname) - hinting at a familial relation. Absolutely no proof of that tho'.

Wickebine is the name of the Assassin. The Thief is actually name Whikebain. 2 completely different people.

They're only spelled the same on iRO. Good ol' confusing localizations.

I always thought that the biolab quest have so much in common with Full Metal Alchemist, a goberment/country that grow fast and powerfull, reserch with a powerfull stone that gives a lot of energy and gives life (heart of ymir/Philospher's stone), reserch with artificial life, a living army with those clones/humunculus. and now i read that thing of Icarus... if you read/watch FMA you should know that dialog.

I always read the npc dialogs, some of the historys in RO are really good and in those moments when the npc is in a mobbed area i took screan shoots of the dialogs to read them in a safe place : D

I think a lot of the storylines in RO are pretty entertaining. You get most of the story from doing the long multi quest lines but some backstory is actually in the dialogue of random npcs all over the place. It's mostly more convenient to read wiki articles for some stories...

I'm a big sucker for creepy stuff though so bio is a fav. :P (glast heim is good too)
