Does anyone know if its possible to add an element to a weapon, if so could anyone tell me?

Some weapons can be MADE with an element and some weapons have an element tied to them. Making them requires having a blacksmith create it for you. Other than that the 4 natural elements(earth fire wind and water) can be endowed onto your weapon by a sage class character. Aspersio(short duration) from a priest endows you with holy and cursed water(from the sign quest) endows it with shadow for a short duration(3 minutes)
