Hi guys
Does woe gears only work in pvp/woe? I know the bonus you get are, but what about the cards you slot?
Reason I'm asking is I slotted my gr card in the woe armour, but when I wear to pvm, there is no reduction when the monsters physically hit me?

the cards are working outside WoE/pvp areas. the effect of the gear set obviously does not.
I dont even think the def rating is working outside WoE as the item description of the WoE set clearly state that they are WoE/pvp area stats only.

GR doesn't work against Monster's normal attacks.

Why? Aren't monsters normal attacks neutral? I thought gr reduces neutral attacks by 30% cause it's ghost element? Then what kind of attacks does gr reduce then. Skill attacks like Eq?

It works fine in pvm versus neutral attacks. Thing is normal monster hits are nonelemental, not neutral.
Anything coded to do -% neutral like DR or raydric is also coded to do -% nonelemental. GR does not.

This is one of those things in RO that, if you think too long about, just decides to punch you in the ding-dong as you try to make sense of it.
Skill attacks like earthquake are perfectly affected by GR as you would expect.

regular attacks from monsters arent reduced by GR but monster skills are reduced by GR.
