iRO is making a whole lot more $ than what they were in 2003.

Interestingly they actually made the most amount of money in 2004. They lost money every year after that until it turned around in 2008, probably due to the Kafra Shop, and then peaked in 2011. Last year they started losing money again. That's true for iRO and for Gravity as a whole.

But what iRO is making more of now than before is money per player. In fact for RO1, comparing 2004 vs 2011, they're making almost twice as much per (average) user.

Super rare? Maybe. Only available to people who drop tons of $$$ into this game? No, then it isn't rare, it's pay2win.

Also this is not renewal stuff on classic, I myself owned 3 pairs on chaos. I'd hardly call that rare.

Hey thanks for the link, saves me the trouble of typing this out again.

I don't see what the problem with slot mid gear is, they have always been available on all official RO servers as a strong rare gear, originally the came out of old purple boxes, but with episode 4 they were removed and set to special event only status. I assume that they will be added eventually to the classic server as well, and I don't see why there would be any reason to have them account bound, other than further irritating players who want to card things in them.

I still don't see any reason they should be account bound, but then, I don't see any reason for valk gears, magni's set, orc archer bows, or any of the other random stuff they decided to make untradeable to be account bound either.

Interesting topic, we had the same discussion on euRo several years ago. Because euRo Chaos actually had slotted Sunnies (Event and OPB) really early, got removed like usual and never had them again, euRo Loki (follow up server because of too many people for one server) never had them. Fun stuff about this topic to read.


To keep it short -> Slotted Mid Headgears aren't that much of a problem IF they are account bound, but IF they stay account bound they should be obtainable for everyone without spending 20$ to get a 10% chance on them. Maybe just add them to Kafra Shop for 500 KP like any other headgear once in a while.
If they are tradeable they should be somewhat rare (like OPB obtainable and nowhere else), but this is most likely not "$$$ enough".

Pretty sure that topic was before slotted mids were released on classic in it's current form of slotting coupons. Naturally some opinions will change with a different situation at hand.

I wouldn't call that back pedaling, I would call that salvaging.
