iRO Community RaidCall
VQROAFe.gif

This is a public Raidcall made by the community for the community. No CMs or GMs allowed (sorry). We want to bring Classic and Renewal people together in peace by creating this RaidCall as a central hub for those looking for parties or as an external public chat channel for people to hang out with fellow iRO players.

http://www.raidcall....php?sid=6397010 (Russia and Taiwan versions are now synced up to 8.2.0!)

Players with or without guilds are more than welcome! Both text chat and voice chat are supported! No microphone required!

To guildleaders: if you'd like to have your own guild channel in the Community RaidCall for your own use, please send one of the admins (Tkwan, HopeSama, or ZeroTigress) a PM either in the RaidCall or forums and we'll make the channel for you! Guildleaders can made channel mods of your guilds channel that you will have full control over. Once you're a channel mod, you will have access to channel settings and can even set a password for your guild channel.

After some discussion, we've decided to open up a Discord branch of the voice chat group. You can hop in through here: iRO Community Discord

We will continue to run the iRO Community RaidCall alongside the Discord branch. Depending on activity, we may decide to migrate and retired the RaidCall entirely in the future. But for now, players have the option to either join the RaidCall or Discord groups.

Just a word of warning: with the merge announcement, all RaidCall users will have their clients updated to the Russian version (merge starts October 1, this is just a client update). Just click on the menu button at the top right of the client window, scroll down to one of the options with a triangle next to it, and you should be able to select English as your default language.

Those who don't run RaidCall as admin will still retain the English UI as the default.

To all newcomers, RaidCall regulars aren't always watching the group chat so they're not always going to be able to spot someone coming in. If you'd like to get some help, say hello or type something to get someone's attention. Kind of hard to keep chats going for long periods of time.

Okay, there have been some inappropriate stuff going on in the RaidCall. As of now, the following rules are in effect in the iRO Community RaidCall:

  • We are open to all sorts of RO and non-RO chat, including politics and religion. However, we are NOT okay with bashing others because of their political alignment, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, race, etc. You will be warned, and if you continue your tirade, you WILL be muted.
  • We are okay with some cussing, but if the majority of your vocabulary is cursing, we will ask you to tone it down. Continue and we WILL mute you. In other words, keep it PG-13!
  • We strive to maintain a friendly and comfortable environment in the RaidCall. Don't be rude! If anyone has any issues with someone in the group, whether they're a member or a guest, PLEASE contact Tkwan (admin), Hopesama (mod), or me (mod) and we will take care of it. (We can receive messages offline so message us at any time!)
  • No inappropriate membership names such as those including racial slurs or cursing (implied or not). Please change it if the mods or other players ask you to do so. If not, we reserve the right to change your name if we find it inappropriate. (This also includes trying to impersonate someone else for malicious intents and purposes.)
  • If your computer has a built-in mic, out of courtesy for your fellow RO players, please learn how to lower the sensitivity on it or disable it! We do NOT want to hear every personal conversation, pet noises, TV noise, or anything else that occurs in your household. It is very rude and inconsiderate to make other players have to hear that. If you refuse to do so as requested, we WILL mute you.
  • If you are continually rude and inconsiderate to people in the RaidCall, YOU WILL BE KICKED! (3 chances and you're out!) That kind of behavior may be fine in guild RaidCalls, but we will not tolerate that in the iRO Community RaidCall. Ban evasions will not be tolerated either as we can IP ban you as well.
Yes, we want to be mostly flowers and sunshine in the Raidcall because, guess what, we get enough crap in the game as it is so DEAL WITH IT! :C

If anyone would like to DJ the Music Room, please contact Tkwan, Hopesama, or me to make you a channel mod for the Music Room.

Before asking to be a DJ, there's a few rules for being a iRO RaidCall DJ:

  • Please use THIS thread to advertise when you're DJing the Music Room. You may indicate what kind of genre or artists you will be playing.
  • You may use the Prohibit Queuing to restrict karaoke singing during your DJ session.
  • If you open up your DJ session to karaoke singing, please be respectful when players hop into the queue and don't insult them. Not everyone is an American Idol so don't expect them to be.
  • If another DJ is already streaming in the Music Room, do not stream your music on top of theirs. (That's rude!) Ask politely to take over the DJ session. If they refuse, then you'll have to wait until they're done.
Break these rules and don't be surprised to see your DJ privileges revoked!

For the best audio streaming, it is recommended that DJs download the supported foobar2000 application (which is completely safe and light). DJs may use hardware processing (which streams any and ALL audio played on your computer), but know that the sound quality for listeners will be bad.

Since people haven't been making use of the Renewal and Classic server channels, we've decided to repurpose those channels into something more useful.

Renewal channel is now the Party Search channel!
Use this channel to look for parties and utilize the party sub-channels for your party's communication needs. Just be sure to indicate which server you're searching for a party on.

Classic channel is now the Marketplace channel!
Shoppers and vendors can make use of this channel to buy and sell weapons, gears, and any other item. Here is where there'll be a Auction Hall sub-channel for players to auction off special items. Make sure you indicate which server you're selling/buying on.

Auction Hall sub-channel
The Auction Hall will be in queued mode, allowing only 1 player to auction something off at a time. Auctioneers must have access to a microphone to properly auction items. Players may volunteer to be an auctioneer for someone else if the selling player does not have a microphone to use.

Buying players will not be able to voice chat in the Auction Hall so bids must be made via text chat. It will be up to the auctioneer to keep track of the bids and properly announce the winning bid and player. Winning players must then PM the seller to meet up in-game and make the exchange. (We may end up creating a separate thread for auction events if people are interested.)

This RC server is now the un-official official iRO only server. We do have some RO2 players come in occasionally, however we do not support or have an active RO2 community. We wont deny RO2 players access, but we would prefer the game related chat be RO1 related to not confuse other users. If enough RO2 players join we may consider making an RO2 channel, but we'll leave that discussion for if/when the time comes.

The number is 6397010.

For those unfamiliar with raidcall, all you need to do when you are searching for a raidcall chat is either type in the name or number if you know them or use ZeroTigress' link in the above post.

I was prepared to make one myself, but if one already exists, I'd rather just join up with that than add another one.

I don't think Gravity should run any Raidcall, to be honest, as people would start using that to try to get in contact with GMs and spiral into the land of no fun.

I'm not big on pushing things onto people, and I dont want to come off as, or sound conceited, so I don't want to bump this post....However..This is not merely a bump, it's an opening. An opening of doors to a new world of Ragnarok fun-ness (like it was with an unofficial RO2 raidcall). I am sure most guilds and whatnot already have their own voice communications setup though, as I mentioned to tigress and hope when they were in earlier. So, if this raidcall thing doesn't really take off, no worries, it will still remain present and weather the storm (or lack thereof).

Tigriss did make a good point though when she was talking, this would be a great opportunity to bring newby's into RO since the introduction system isn't that great and iRO has a steep initial learning curve.

Even if its not this raidcall server, for the life of iRO, some sort of voice chat where newbs can easily log on request help from experienced players through voice chat or text (raidcall is like upgraded msn/skype/vent all mashed into one) would be a great help to sustaining, and growing population numbers.

For those curious on how to join, you can download raidcall at http://www2.raidcall...d-raidcall.html

You download it, install, and register an account with raidcall (this is the account you will login with, don't use the same info as your RO login info)

Once you register, either through the main website or the login in the raidcall window, you will need to search for a server.

You can join the one we've spoken about above by going to the search bar and typing "6397010". This is the raidcall ID number that is assigned to each individual raidcall group. Or alternatively, you can attempt to search for a raidcall by game, or by title of the raidcall (this raidcall is currently titled "Realm of Nidhoggur").

Once you enter a group you can request to become a member using a button on near the top bar next to the "Like" button. Once you become a member you can edit your membership name to show what guild and server you belong to.

You edit your membership name simply by right clicking your name and hitting "Edit Membership Name".

I believe the default push to talk button is F2. You can change that multiple ways, the quickest is to click the "push to talk" button in the bottom right of the client, and then make sure the push to talk bubble is selected, then select the chat box and hit the key you want to use to talk. When finished, just click outside of the box that popped up and you're done.

You can change the skin and other various lesser important and aesthetic options with your raidcall as well, but this is only an introductory "how-to".

Toy around with options, you'll figure it out.

For those not keen on speaking, there is a text chat feature right alongside the channel box, that many users opt to use due to a lack of microphone, or simple shyness. Don't be afraid to join because of one of these things, come on in and have fun.

With risk of sounding like a broken record - For those who didn't get to experience the RO2 raidcall, it really adds a whole new depth to the game being able to openly communicate with large swathes of the community and to quickly find parties or answers to your questions. If the raidcall population (this or another, as I said this is not a iRO dedicated raidcall) gets to a moderate point, it will be a blast doing mvp parties, instance runs, gramps TI's, and hosting or participating in community events.

If this raidcall ends up getting large enough, we may migrate to a completely ragnarok dedicated server, but we'll see if this is even a popular idea in the first place.

I started using it long ago. But I'm still unable to speak while playing, I mean, if I am not on RC window I can speak. So when I'm playing RO with friends, doing ET and stuff, I have to alt+tab it so I can speak, and it's pretty annoying.. My fellas told me to run it as admin, I did that, but still, it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

What does exactly F2 do on RC window? o.o
Mouse freedom worked, but it's not that good. I found the problem, it was because I used a key from my mouse, and it didn't let me use it while playing RO. It's weird you know, 'cause I use a similar key on my mouse to speak on TeamSpeak, and I have no problems with that. I just changed the key to CTRL, it's annoying, but it's all I can do. Wheel mouse doesn't work either. I mean, it's better to use a key from the mouse to speak, rather than one from the keyboard, when you have a microphone and not a headset.

Yup, I already tried that, opened RC as admin and opened RO as admin, nothing happens. It just works if I use any other key that has nothing to do with the mouse :(

I want to hear your voice, but not to make fun of it.

I deleted all of the other channels in that raidcall now. I gave the guys in my vent the option to move over to raidcall, and they said they'd rather stay with vent. So this raidcall is purely RO1 now.
