Can't they just make it so Shield Reflect can't affect MVPs or be capped by the caster's HP?

I guess people doesn't remind how gm tried to take care of this a while ago. and it lended to some weird results.

The only way to fix this is to ask gravity developper (kro) and since they are working only on Renewal I guess that won't happen.

I feel its quite bad though, killing mvp with reflect is not interesting at all, and kind of boring.

 

I dont think disabling reflect shield on specific map is doable that easily since the skills work already on any map. while ice wall is desactivated on many maps already.

Disabling shield reflect on specific maps works the same as disabling ice wall on specific maps.

Back on topic: I think Icewall allows comp where as reflect killing doesn't. People would probably still tank and res and bomb spam mvps ANYWAY because Icewall requires a higher attention span.

Y'know, since we're gonna disable Reflect, we should probably also disable Soul Destroyer so people can't portal back and forth on Nameless for Bee. :)

I don't see the relevance. Unless you are suggesting that spamming tokens to reflect kill an MvP in a matter of minutes is the same as taking forever to attempt to portal kill beez with SD? Quite honestly, portal SD is the worst and most time consuming way of killing beez that I could have thought of. If somebody really dedicates that much time to killing beez that way, and nobody interferes whatsoever, they probably deserve to kill it.

Taking forever to kill it? I've watched people SD kill it in a matter of minutes...

 

I don't think you realize how many hundreds of tokens you're going to use on Bee anyways. It's not even worth reflecting it. Even counting that, the same thing could be said about reflect that you're saying about SD: if someone really dedicates that much time to killing Bee and no one interferes, you probably deserve it as well. Bee DOES run, but it's so difficult to not prematurely kill him with reflect when he does that.
 

Valk on the other hand, if there's competition and you're reflecting there's no way you can win.

 

So basically, go ahead and disable Reflect, just make sure you disable other "cheap" methods of killing it.

I wasn't talking about SD, but portal SD. There's a difference. Try portal SDing beez next time and see how long it takes with it's heals. As for a matter of minutes, that's also with megs. I don't see reflect requiring god items to kill MvPs in a matter of minutes.

 

I also don't care how many tokens you'd need to kill beez/valk/ifrit/any specific mvp. It's a general statement about any MvP. Throwing kafra points in the form of tokens at an MvP is even worse than disabling it with Ice wall. Unless you are suggesting that portal SDing takes kafra points to perform?

 

As for disabling other "cheap" methods, I believe Ice wall was already disabled for this reason. I don't see how "portal SD" can be disabled. If you have a suggestion, feel free to post it but I'm pretty sure the game is incapable of differentiating between SD and portal SD.

I never though reflect was taken care of properly in RO.

The amount of damage is completely absurd with eske

It bypass invulnerability skills on giant baphomet.

 

That renewal patch that make reflect shield damage capped as your max hp

should have been that way a long time ago.

I fail to see the relevance of disabling tokens, or anything to do with ET (since reflect is disabled there), so check yourself.
