I plan on building magic. Skin shed, shadow slash, shadow leap, haze slasher, mirrior image.. are these skills any good?

Skin shed is probably your most important Ninja skill for defensive purposes. I would recommend Blaze Shield and Freezing Spear. Blaze shield for monsters that are weak against fire. Freezing Spear for monsters weak against Water property (Magmarings).

all the first tier magics are good...freezing spear, flame petals and wind blade... dont limit yourself in elements or youll be sad later... after those blaze shield and lighning jolt are good... beyond that exploding dragon... the rest of the magics are kinda Meh... Cicada skin shed is a must... shadow leap/haze slash/shadow slash are good only for learning shadow hiding as a k/o... mirror image isnt needed since it doesnt stack with css and only gives you 2 more dodges before you take damage (and thats only past level 5)... make sure you master Ninja Mastery so youll get Pure Soul as a K/O (and its needed if you get Exploding Dragon)... if you need further help in game come find me (IGN: Okami Maru) in either Amatsu or South Prontera and ill help as best as i can...
