Ok so wait, to level up the pets you just collect the fragments over and over? Does it level up 1% each time? So you need to collect 400x 4 fragments for level 4? Or err sorry?

Lasts 10 seconds and the AoE is actually really tiny if it's anything like the other pet AoEs. Got a Sohee and her AoE poison is slightly smaller or about the same as my Claymore trap. Plus her cast range is really really short, and she seems to be really stupid as she actions seem really slow at time, and other time she runs to poison some far away enemy behind me rather than the one I'm fighting.

Sohee has a really long cast animation that makes her not very good as a summon it looks like. Mermaid pretty much outclasses her in every aspect.

The thing that horified me the most is the drop rate! I spent 5 days to farm Moonlight, for at least 6-7hours/day, amd was only able to get 7 DNA, and they gave me 3 A, 3 and 1 G. Im starting to lose hope!

Another story, i farmed and got 23 DNA for poring, and got every letters except G......

Sohee has the problem of many other debuff pets - she recasts her dot after every melee hit thus wasting half the dps time.

 

For some reason, mermaid is not affected by this issue which makes her much better than sohee. And her dot ticks the same as sohee's but it ticks once a second (not 2 second like sohee's).

 

This is sad.

Tip for those people having trouble with getting the one letter they need.

 

1. Don't use them one at a time. RNG tends to not be kind.

 

2. Collect at least 4-8 fragments before using them. RNG will still be random as per job description, but you can usually get 3-4 bases with this set up. More the better.

 

3. If you still need just that one base, refer to #1 and repeat #2 at the minimum recommended fragments.

Question, if Ievel my Wanderer Eater, which has a base -12% to STR ability, does the ability get stronger? Or would the only thing that gets stronger my summon's damage?

No, as far as I'm aware no buffs or debuffs improve with level at the moment. Really disappointing for pets that have no attack like the Desert Goblin. It makes leveling them absolutely pointless. I was hoping that if the buff didn't improve that at least the pet would follow me, but that wasn't the case either. 

 

The way it looks, is that only the pets' attack improves.

 

I'm pretty disappointed with the pet system considering there's almost no reason to even bother leveling like half of the pets. They should have lowered the max level for pets that don't improve. I mean, really, what's the point of a Level 4 Thiefbug. Is it more "decorative"?

Given how hard Scratch Thieves are farmed, you could probably get DNA for about 2z each on the Auction house. Though since you're probably farming the cards anyway, just keep at it and you'll get it soon enough, and later, more than enough to drive the market price of ST DNA into rupees rather than zennys each.

I know that, and I actually already have the pet, after 26 fragments (which I didn't really want for more reasons than collection)... just wanted to share my bad luck with those fragments xD
