I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm still not sure which card should I put in it. Right now I'm thinking of Orc Baby card (a bit bored with Raydric). I'm looking for something all-rounded. Thanks in advance.

yeah and raydric isn't even that useful especially since almost everyone uses elemental attacks. i'd go with giant whisper card for offense. for defense, i'd use orc baby on a chaser/gx or other high flee characters, but generally noxious would be better if your character doesn't have a decent flee to start with.. get a separate hbp with dr for garment swapping, solely for tanking fists (during the rare cases you couldn't avoid getting fisted).

I love DR card, but I think I will be wiped out in certain situations with it If I wear an elemental armor (like Pasana-carded armor), it shouldn't be a problem I think.

yup thats why i suggested get a dr for swapping purposes only

 

you would only make yourself more vulnerable to elemental attacks if you wear a certain elemental armor (like fire)+dr.

Really? According to irowiki calc it's the other way around (62,5% elemental reduction).

of course you would take less damage from fire, but you're so gonna die to water elemental attacks. it's easier to counter/kill a person who's wearing dr+an elemental armor than say a person using neutral unfro+dr.

DO NOT USE ORC BABY!!! It's a really bad card and you basically kill your HBP's value with it.

 

Immune is best all around for PVM. DR is good too of course but very situational. If you can afford a DR hopefully you will know when to use it and when not to.

i'd prefer orc baby (or gwhisper) for pvp tho especially on chars with flee. otherwise go with noxious, raydric is too overrated.

 

if you're only gonna use it for pvm then go with dr, monsters' elemental attacks dont really hurt much unless you're fighting an mvp. and even against mvps, most of the time i'd still use dr. heck, i use dr when i solo ifrit.

there aren't a lot of useful cards available for garments so you pretty much have to choose between the suggestions posted here.

Edit: I think I'm going to stick around with DR most of the time when I have the money. I'd probably get another HBP with Raydric later, but let's see.

It'll take a while to get a DR, so you really should put an immune in yours first. If you can afford a DR, surely you can afford another HBP. Or, buy another HBP now to save for DR if you really want one. Even when you have a DR HBP you can't use it EVERYWHERE so you still need the immune HBP.

 

It surprises me how many people are walking around with uncarded HBPs and how much damage they take in PVM without a raydric. Really they should just use some other raydric garment (valk manteau, nid garb) if they are too cheap to card their HBPs.

 

Also, most people default woe sets for PVP so the PVP argument for orc baby isn't even valid most of the time. DO NOT use orc baby!!!

Ok you're not.. It's even worst than a raydric card!!! And no one uses card sets when they are high lvl or with super valuable gears like HBP

My first HBP was Immune (Raydric), I use it all the time.
