A tip for a perfect picture when you want to edit, make sure to always capture the screenshots in daylight time, high resolution and /noui mode!

I don't think a veteran player like you can go wrong you have advantage compared to the old users since you should know all the costumes by now.. and combinations be creative

so true am an old player and bin araund from the begining and guess am here til the end lol but is there something i never manage to master it is this perfect picture and stuff but i guess i give it a shot ether way i know i wont hit the top lol but then agen we never know what happens

Although I suppose that's an advantage too, the main advantage of a veteran player is that he's far more known throughout the game than some new guy.

Not fully. The rules are def changed this year and last year it was more a ... war than popularity because of old grudges between players hence the huge amount of stacked votes.

But the reason that I, myself think, that someone with great ideas, or nice graphics, that put their effort down in their work can win, is because, the talent part isn't fully decided by players. Sure they get to vote, but there's a jury in the end.
People I've spoken to that haven't join, are afraid of it being all about popularity, even though I know that they're good artists for example, but I think, if you put down a lot of work to anything, no matter how old or how new you are in game, you have a chance to win

I just realized that I made the same mistake as I did last year.
I wrote "vote for sumomi"... but we're representing ourselves with the forum names...

One problem is that you can get eliminated long before it gets to the jury part, which is the last round of judging only -- so fourteen contestants will be eliminated before ever getting to the jury.  I had so much planned for last year, and never made it past the first round, though I had put tons of thought and work into my preliminary images.  I do hope it's a bit more fair this year --

Last year, someone who had no images posted for a couple of days was blowing away everyone else in the first round of voting, and from reading ShazamO's initial post and the rules and such, it does seem as though we are supposed to be judging and voting on the submissions.

 

I guess time will tell if this is a contest on the merits of the submissions, or a popularity contest as it was last year.  Even though I've been around for a long time, I'm not popular in game, or a member of an active clan (nostalgically, I can't leave the clan I'm in, hoping to catch sight of a clan-mate returning someday), or any of the other things that make for ROSE fame.  So, all I have going for me is the submissions themselves -- well, that and my awesome, talented, wonderful, lovely character -- Stargarde!

Stargarde is representing Mt. Eruca on behalf of Kitt (because Kitt finds she has to stay in Maryland and make eyeglasses for the optometrist she works for.  While she is very skilled at making eyeglasses, Kitt regrets to inform ROSE players that she has yet to figure out a way to make eyeglasses or sunglasses in real life that enhance one's strength, intelligence, sense, concentration, dexterity, or charm -- though she supposes that properly fitted and styled eyewear naturally raises anyone's charm).

The program I use most often for playing with pictures is Paint.NET.  It's fun to adjust images for different effects.
