This GX you're talking about seems to claim his account got "hacked". Not sure of any details or whether he is telling the truth though.

@ meditation: I put that topic up I figure it was about time that everybody started to fight this off.. Already had a colleage get her stuff ripped off at one point by going to the site. This phenomenon started to rise in a matter of a few weeks but they targeted the higher tier players.. I'm glad Oda saw the post earlier

As mentioned the culprit is starting to target high tier characters that are most frequent in where they keep their novices or w/e chars they have. Its starting to be another scheme trend in chaos.

make sure to report these to me immediately. Oftentimes the PMing character is another hacked account, but we can still track where the items go and lock down the accounts before any more damage is done.

Fyi if u want to bait the dude into pm u, just stand around eden with clearly visible high priced items, like hbp, faw, bdm, equipped. Then u can take his name down and report him when he does pm u.

I'm surprised none of my chars selling stuff have been targeted yet. Gears open, or even clearly stating the item being sold. Would be fun to mess with the persons head though.

Well... this is per se.. but in most cases. I think they want to target a small portion of the people who are most likely found in the public areas or places where they keep a general conversation open.

I already thought I'm so forever alone even scammers don't want to talk to me, but I got this guy offering me 2k KP yesterday : P
Buuut of course didn't took a screen nor remember his name... It was a 150 RG tho.
I'd say they use accounts of people who they scammed already to continue this crap... But I actually don't believe it somebody who's 150 would fall for that...

You'd be surprised on how many people fall for such trickery, always looking for the easy way out.

Well, I finally had my run in with them. And they were swiftly dealt with. Kind of funny how the whole "my computer is lagging..." thing kept him busy with me, while submitting a ticket.

The tips you guys sent me does seem to have helped. They had alt characters up that were advertising for the sale of the items stripped off of the victim account that was contacting everyone. Nothing had the chance to move off those characters before they got locked down.
