I was gonna get excalibur(want it for keep sake lol) as it looked like the best one to me but maybe I'm wrong and something better?

Just about every decent suggestion for pre-Trans has been covered... if you're going to use auto-casting cards, though, don't make say, a Double Blazing Haeddongum since they won't stack.

 

When the character does Trans, Elemental Sword will be your best choice. Excalibur is almost exclusively used for potting.
