Now I'm not entirely sure of the precise mechanics of the item drop system, (if someone would like to fill me in, please feel free) but perhaps it could be altered so it is not quite so harsh.
This suggestion rose out my playing experience today, attempting to complete the first guild quest with which I was presented. As a level 62 Paladin, I was assigned the task to collect 30 Claws and 30 Staffs from the Yeti species that inhabit Storming Snowfield, (whose levels are 55-56). Happy to oblige, I made my way to the wintry field to collect said items from my prey. Unfortunately, I spent the next two hours or so hacking my way through yetis who rarely delivered the prizes I sought and then bumped into the schedule server maintenance. In that time I had managed to complete one of the two tasks and half of the other.
Appreciating the difficulty of both assigning random tasks and the level gaps inherent in an MMO, I was hoping that there might be a way to tweak the software for a better drop ratio. Moving from a 1 in 10 to a 1 in 6 or 7? Especially considering those players who may not wish or be able to play for extended amounts of time, please allow the guild quests be nice relatively easy tasks to accomplish within a reasonable time period.
Fellow Heroes of Dragon Saga, your responses and rebuttals are welcome. Do you have a similar experience or did I just have a bad draw for today?
