i was in mid lvl TI today and atleast 3 or 4 genes were doing 38~40k damage. i only do about 15k haha what gears or how is this possible

Holy cannon ball is probably want you need most.

Always use the appropriate cannon ball. The damage modifier helps CC way more than you'd expect, because eatk/watk get the bonus twice. 

 

For further differences in damage, it comes down to differences in gear and stats.
