So RO has a cooking system, and it is not very well utilized; what can we do to make it more a part of your gameplay?

Right now you can buy for relatively cheap the +10 foods from the kafra shop, but you can also create them using in-game methods.

In-game methods are somewhat item intense though, what value would you the player be ok with zeny wise for +10 food?  From there we can figure out ingredient or drop rate modifications.

After we get this figured out we can discuss new recipes all together.

What would be the max zeny Value you would want to pay for:

  • Str +10 Steamed Tongue
  • Int +10 Dragon Breath Cocktail
  • Dex +10 Hwergelmir's Tonic
  • Agi +10 Steamed Desert Scropions
  • Vit +10 Immortal Stew
  • Luk +10 Cooked Nine Tail's Tails

What we have done:

  • The Caterer in Prontera and Eden Group can break a 30 minute food down into 5x 5min "snacks" so that dying won't lose you as much time value.  This is especially valuable for WoE.
  • We are able to add or change recipes
  • We can change drop rate of ingreditents or Cooking Kits.
  • We can change the success rate of the Cooking Kits.

The ingame cooking system ought to be a viable alternative to kafra foods. Requiring multiple .2% drops to make one food makes it a  waste of time, especially when you can die and lose the time you put in immediately. Separate boxes with food cooking items in gd would be nice.

well for a baseline a box of food is 10-12 mil average price so made food would have to cost maybe 3mil for 10.

I'd say 3mil but I don't think much people care about the food system when they can just buy it from kafar without all the grinding for the cook books.Plus what's stupid is losing the effect of the food in death. But I'd say increase awareness of the food system to new players who don't know about it, I myself just buy the food from kafar and make them into 5min for woe or MVPing.

Are you asking per food? I'd say 3-4m would be fine, as long as it's competitive with the zeny equivalent of the kafra shop food? As in, if it's cheaper to buy the kafra shop food it wouldn't be worth utilizing the ingame food.

You could also make it so only ingame food can be broken down into snacks and let the kafra food always stay as 20 minute versions.

Make it so that it doesnt take longer to make the food, than the food actually lasts. Some of the requirements to make the level 10 stuff is pretty steep to collect. Simplify the recipes a bit by lowering the number of different things you have to collect and you can increase the number of more expensive items berries/seeds etc to balance out the cost to make them comparable to the Kafra foods.

well, if the cooked food has the exact same effect as the kafra shop ones, then it's obvious they should be priced the same. As a buyer i don't care where it come from, i'll just buy the cheaper one.

LOL

@GMs

Dont listen to that fools! They dont know the maths....

3m per food? Stupid? One cash food is like 1m... For dummies: 10 foods in a box-> 10m/10=1

A food attempt should be about 600-700k.

Just remove the expensive stuff from the receipt list and its fine:

  • Str +10 Steamed Tongue:                      RoyalJelly
  • Int +10 Dragon Breath -_-tail:             YggBerry
  • Dex +10 Hwergelmir's Tonic:                  YggBerry
  • Agi +10 Steamed Desert Scropions:      RoyalJelly
  • Vit +10 Immortal Stew                             Amulet
  • Luk +10 Cooked Nine Tail's Tails:          Izidor, FourLeafClover, Sharp Leafs.

How about removing stuff that is exclusive a rare drop and buffing food creation to be like Rune creation.  You cook, and you get say 2-5 foods depending on a dice roll.

increase the succes of royal cook kit

here is the specs so far i seen

Success rates calculation:

Spoiler

On that note the fantastic cook kit is only on a mvp thats 7 hours long to wait for place it in summoner could help the farm for that a bit

and i agree with a above post of making it kinda like the rune skill each attempt could give u more with single use if your expereice in cooking is at a certain lvl.

Since making food is taxting a bit with the farming make it more reasonable like if you make x amount of food and gain x amount of experience, it instead of a success with 1 food per attempt it shuld pop up to 3 or 4 per attempt i think.

Just brain storming

Actually cooking the food yourself in-game isn't practical at all. The low level dishes are great, but dishes requiring pet tames are annoying. Some of the dishes require rare drops that are not in abundance in the server except from botting. I would be fine with just removing the rare items from the recipes, but if you want to tweak success rates or cooking sets access, I'd be okay with that. Also, a significant increase to the chance for cooking sets to be dropped in Juperos would be nice.

Would it be possible to create food for alternative effects? Considering the system for traditional foods are fairly kafra-oriented, could there be different food recipes for flee / hit / crit / atk / matk?

Please add a Cooking Kit Box to Kafra Shop

• 150-200 Professional Cooking Kits for 50P

• 150-200 Royal Cooking Kits for 100P

And add a few random Superb and Gourmet kits to that pack.

example:

Buy a Professional kit box you get:

200x Professional Cooking Kits

12x Superb Cooking Kits

This supports cooking and kafra shop at the same time, do it!!

Oh and I need a moon rabbit hat, pls add that too ;)

My first thought was "oh dear god Bahamut has returned to destroy the world of RO2."

Then I checked the thread date.

I guess they removed the topic about the guild dungeon... so it's time to bring that topic back.

I still want to cook and need 10k+ cooking kits. I dont want to waste my incredients with Home cooking kits just because there isn't enough available.

Trying to farm?? It will take years...

Why add those to Kafra Shop? They can make some way to get them ingame.

How about this?

Making it so you don't need a Chef Hat just to gain access to cooking?

Chef Hat is not the problem. it's the ridicioulus amount of kits and ingredients required.

Also one more problem: +10 Food is available in Kafra Shop anyways, making max prices "set in stone" and leaving most foods plain out too expensive to create anyways.
