Sorry about my -_-ty title attempt. I thought it was pretty funny.

So hey guys,

I'm new to iRO. Infact I haven't left the novice training area yet.
I used to play oRO back in the day for a few years. Hands down my favourite MMO of all time.

Now I'd like to play ragnarok online again and the only english non-private server (I hate all the add-ons etc they do. I like to keep it classic) I found was iRO.
Got it off steam, loaded it up and I have a lot of delayed movements and attacks.

It's not my computer. It runs anything else just fine.

I'm playing from Australia. Sydney to be exact.

Is there any ways to reduce my lag I get from this game so it's actually playable?

I read on here someone said to run it in XP compatability mode, since it's not optimised for windows 7. So I'll try that when I get home.
Any other suggestions besides the "download this "free" latency fixer" which generally don't help at all?

I hope you guys can help me sort this out. I'm beyond keen to get back to wasting all my time on this game.

Hi fellow australian! Can you give us more information? Are you using a wireless or wired connection? are you running anything else besides RO? Does it lag all the time?

Have you tried playing through Lowerping or similar service? They are definitely worth a try if you're having network lag.

Hey mate! :)

Connection: Wired.
Running only iRO.
Lags: all the time.

I'm starting to get the feeling that maybe it's a combination of lag and the fact that I haven't played RO for soooo many years that maybe it used to have delay issues and I didn't notice. But now that I've been playing higher FPS games etc I can notice it...  Just a thought.
But there is definite lag in there.

I also tried Lateax (however it's spelt) fix thing. Didn't help.
I tried both WRFast and the one with LAG in it's name.
Both didn't seem to help at all.

I've done the Microsoft Messaging Que bit as well to no avail.

Hey buddy.

I tried both Lowerping and WTFast but both had no real fix for me.

i don't even know if it's because of being from Australia or if it's the game itself xD - makes me mad :|

I hear ya.

oRO was the best thing to happen to MMO's ever. Everything since has been a massive let down to me.

I even tried recently a few private servers like nuh uh and nope.
Both had terrible lag as well. Plus I'd rather play on a legit server. I like having rules.

Have you tried the TCP/IP fix or the Leatrix latency fix? (Google them). They do work, even if you might not think so :)

You have nothing to lose to see if they improve your ping.

Other than that if LowerPing/WTFast don't work, well.. the list runs a little short of other possible fixes.

Thanks for the reply mate. Appreciate it.

Yeah I did try those.

I searched the forums religiously trying to find a solution. Posting a new thread is always my last desperate attempt at a problem.
Granted they did "work". But it was still pretty delayed/laggy.

Hey mate.

Nah not right now, I'm at work.

I did do one last night just to see what it was like compared to others.
I remember the last ping being something like 200 or 280.
