hey guys

this stupid ranger test is so hard....my 99 sniper is a pure AS build....80 bit 60int? and 99 dex....the guy has no flee at all so its pretty much impossible to clear test 2....i was gonna reset stats but its 4 stones and i don't have them nor the money at the moment. is there any one here who had a pure AS build sniper and was able to clear the test? if so, can you please give me some advice as to how i can go about clearing this.

Yea that 2nd part is pretty dumb, hard to win without cheating. Simply get a box of token of siegfried from kafra shop and it's a piece of cake.

Equip Eden gear. Before picking up the files, use arrow shower and arrow repel to push away as many plants as you can. Use double strafe to kill the ones that you can't move easily.

You can shove the plants around using Arrow Shower and Arrow Repel. Don't talk to the npc to get the bomb porings/papers until you've made a safe-ish path for yourself.

At least, that's what worked for me

This is what I did but not from the Kafra Shop, god no D:

 

5 Eden Merit Badges = 5 Token of Siegfrieds

 

I can also recall having to be 0 weight and tokens weigh 1 weight I think? But the test instructor still let me in ... for some reason

 

- 3rd Part is also frustrating if you don't do it right!

i had the same trouble first time doing ranger quest.

then i read a guide, that you can kill the monster before talking to the npc

here's my tips:

- dont waste sp in the first test

- starting second test, using double strafe, kill only parasite, nephentes and drosera as much as you can in under 2 minutes warning.

- after 2 minutes warning go back to the npc, take the paper

- take the path where there are no drosera left, and use all the bomb along the way (dont spam them though, give ~3sec interval)

In 2nd test, what I did was, immediately after I changed to that map, I walked to the end of the map, once the timer starts I only arrow showered and repel a clear path for me to walk back, and killed anything that possibly can position lag me when I'm walking back while activating the bombs later, nothing attacked me throughout, so you don't need agi. Once back at the instructor get the files, while walking back carefully place the bombs far apart enough so that in case you position lag, you don't accidently bomb yourself.

Instructor will let you in as long as you have under 150 weight before you talk to the dude;D

It's basically the weight of the arrows and bow he gives you

Ya I just bought some kafra pots and got passed that way got pretty good at it when I made a bunch of rangers one time

Now I don't know which is harder, Warlock or Ranger test.

Warlock test is not hard.
It's just challenging and a bit frustrating.

And i'm still wondering on when will i make Mechanic and Arch Bishop...

Arch Bishop quest is annoying because you have to go through Odin Temple with all those high-level monsters around.

Ranger test is by far the hardest one.

 

The Warlock one was so easy it wasn't worth remembering.

The Arch Bishop one wasn't all that bad either. (But then again I was ME Build so Odin Shrine wouldn't have been a problem)

 

I don't even remember what I had to do on the Maestro change, I think it was mostly NPC dialogue and poems.

 

Super Novice was a pain in the posterior because of all the Picky's.

 

GX was plain and simple.

 

as was the Sorcerer one.

I think Genetic's job change is the easiest. Like doing a low level board quest..
