the Godzilla movie did NOT disappoint me at all.... it was a perfect modernization of the Godzilla franchise... even my wife loved it and shes not a Godzilla fan like i am..

The 2014 movie was overseen by Toho to make sure it did Gojira right, but it was still an American-made film.

A very random Sera appearance.
I've never actually seen the original Godzilla movie, but I've seen a couple of the newer Japanese made Godzilla movies. They are amazingly still a person in a giant rubber suit.
Is it just me, or is Godzilla's tail really long in the new one?

Saw Shin Gojira and HIGHLY recommend seeing it in theatres. It's a great movie that delves into the bureaucracy of dealing with the natural disaster that is Gojira. In terms of story, it wins out against Godzilla (2014). The plot twist at the end will really get you thinking (as expected from the director of Evangelion). There were some parts that felt out of place, but other than that it was an excellent homage to Gojira (1954).
