why do chain lightnig only 4 from 9 attacks and so less damage

Yeah,i am annoyed with this too.I really think that it should do the maximum amount of hit to a single target until it dies.
But only 4 hit and it moves to another close by target (assuming they are there) and spend the remaining amount of hit.

The hit lock alike you get after casting it is also very -_-ing disturbing.

yea this spell is complete trash. the casting delay, slow casting speed, and low dmg + few hits really ruins it. the only way this spell is really viable for anything is if you have a stringer. then you can do some damage with it. but as a leveling tool, it seems to do almost the exact same damage as jupitel thunder if you calculate the dps

this spell shines when there are multiple targets within jumping range.  It's designed to chain/hop to the next available target.   Next time try mobbing then SG1  followed up with CL5.. it's pretty neat.

or just crimson with crimson set on for much more reliable damage spread across all monsters at once....

 

 

despite what its meant for, the only real use for CL is for taking down 1 water target fast. in almost every scenario you can think of though, without strings, it falls short of competing against Crimson rock and TV. the entire warlock class tree needs an overhaul. theres so many things wrong with almost all of the spells. lets start with the ridiculous cast times for starters. not sure why they felt the need to make all of the spells cast so slow. even with 100% cast reduction gear, its still impossible to have instacast because of all the nonvariable cast time inserted into spells. making release not work with mystic amplification was also a pretty dirty move on their part

 

 

they need to buff Radius to like 50%

CL is useless? Ever heard of jack frost/SG? Use one of those, then (mystical amp) CL. It's still better than LoV and JT for multiple targets.

CL is useless? Ever heard of jack frost/SG? Use one of those, then (mystical amp) CL. It's still better than LoV and JT for multiple targets.

Someone here hasn't experienced how amazing CL can be when a Warlock does have instant-cast. Impossible? I think not. Especially with the things we're getting soon.

I had one, during those 1sec fixed cast reduction hat time (not remember what's the name anymore). CL cast wasn't even noticed lol xD and entering PvP was so fun due to the fact that CL damage changes depending on what staff (and other dps gears) you are wearing while it arc-ing, thus maintaining the gear swapping was critical (tried to achieve instacast with high damage output)

 

and Release Comet can be MA'd, mind you. Super easy to achieve in PVM, and middle to impossible to achieve in WOE (depends on the lag, stats, and position bug or not)

Yes, using MA scroll. Just hit release -> MA scroll (in hotkey) = MA'd comet. But you need to use the scroll as instant as you hit release to make it work.

It will work when the chat on the head appear like this: Release! -> Mystical Amplification! -> Comet!

 

Can try in PVM maps and choose the farthest target your comet can go so that you have ample time to use the scroll

Chain lightning is good and fun, other than it pos bugging yourself and causing animation locking while it hits it is pretty decent.

exactly why it sucks. without strings its too nerfed. maybe the people saying its great have kiel cards and sprint gear on or something. or just live with a permanant string at all times   :heh:

do you mean, currently CL ignore demihuman reduction? or HP/SP pool is calculated in CL formula? or WL has HP poll same as RK?

i dont understand why they dont just fix the spells themselves instead of making us rely on gear for them to work right. instead of gear fixing spells, they should fix the spells and then make the gear boost the damage/health/sp of the player themselves

It's how you use it. :) I usually combo it w/ Jack Frost and Storm Gust. It does pretty awesome damage. Not to mention, on High TI, when there's a deadly sinX you can freeze and CL the hell out of him.
