Trying to figure out the best katars for general pvm
we have the glorious weapons, speciality jur, jur[3]. katar[2], jamadhar[1], and chakram[2]
The glorious weapons are pretty good for two reasons - free Aunoe card (+20% crit damage bonus) and a very high chance to max out your aspd. their base damage is a bit lower than ordinary Jamadhars. This alone makes them look like the best weapons but:
it is possible to get max or near max aspd with enchanted faw, bako tattoos high agi and some food making this part useless
speciality jur has terrible base atk -41 lower than its cousin jur[3] for an extra slot. The numbers fail me but in a direct comparison you need very high str and str equips (megs) for the extra slot to possibly outweigh the loss in damage.
Meanwhile a +15 Jur[3] is 170 atk and a +10 Jamadhar is 215 - a similar difference of 40 atk but gaining two extra slots. best used when and if your str is below 50 or so but the jur actually beats the jamadhar out otherwise
+10 katar[2] is 198 atk 28 higher than the jur for only a loss in one slot. probably better when your str is about 50-70 but higher up jur still looks better
chakram[2] is assasin cross only comparable atk to katar[2] but with the meteor assault bonus. probably good for people spam this otherwise the jur is still better overall
anyone else find it interesting that for general pvm (and for mvping non demi human monsters) the oldschool as hell jur[3] is still the best weapon
we are of course not using SS cards here but either racial, or aunoe, or mobsters - mobster being my preference for a crit build (3 aunoe will be very expensive). ss cards are bad and a waste of slots your better off getting your crit elsewhere and from luk and using mobster cards for - in a jur - a total of 24 extra cri when using a katar class weapon and 45% extra critical damage. endow or edp your weapon and go
