It looks like it failed to give you some of the junk you get when changing (the knife, 40 weight?), and that derailed the script.
You just had to get as close to the new weight limit as possible, didn't you?
Use a bwing, or walk south, and keep walking south. There's a warper npc in the next room, iirc, and if you walk further south, I think there's a portal out at the bottom too.
