The End of the World in the modern day can be associated with war, unexplained forces, horrifying natural disasters, or even aliens. The End of the World in Norse Mythology is called Ragnarok, which is named for a great battle of which many notable figures perish and the world destroyed. Lucky for us, this fated day is happening this year on February 22nd. What better way to celebrate, than to start a new event highlighting this day!

 

Event Dates: Feb 18- Feb 26  

 

For this event, create a screenshot (or series of screenshots) depicting Ragnarok, the end of the world.  This is pretty open-ended, so you are free to use your imagination to come up with a creative image.

 

Here are the rules:

1. You have to use a screenshot from in game. You may edit or decorate via picture editing software if you like. 

2. If you are submitting a series of images, please do not send more than 5 at a time. The series of images have to be related to each other. 

3. For each submission, please provide a short story or an explanation of what we are seeing (has to be over 50 words). 

4. You may submit more than once, but only one prize per account. Only one participation prize allowed per entry.

5. Entries will be accepted via our Official Forum or in the Steam Event Entry thread. Please remember to include your character name.

6. All images have to be appropriate for people of all ages.

7. All images will be posted into a Facebook Album (those with a series of screenshots, only the first screenshot will be posted). 

 

How Winners will be determined:

The Warpportal Staff will be choosing one winner for each of the following categories:

   -Most Creative (Scenario)

   -Funniest 

   -Most Artistic

 

Prizes:

The three winners will receive a Horse Head Accessory (2 slots) and a permanent Gongurat Rocket Mount. Participation prize will be an Event Super Puncher.

The real end of the world was brought not by a war between the gods, but by Odin himself, awakened from his eternal sleep in stone by a single sorcerer of the Freyjanity who, by infusing his sword with evil energy, brought him as an incarnation of Satan Morocc, covering the world in darkness for a brief period before he destroyed it.

The end of the world started when (Baby)Porings dominated the new comers (level 1 characters)

which means there's no way to move on and no chance of becoming strong (leveling up).

Because of this, people felt that Odin abandoned them and lost faith in him.

People choose other path, some decided to join Frejya and some choose to keep silent and stay.

 

Many people die because no one dare to protect anyone. Everything start to fall into pieces.

Destructions and death are everywhere. It seems that there is no safe place for people who still believe.

The Future for every child that will  continue the battle for salvation is gone.

Ragnarok may be upon us, and the end is drawing near, but can't think of anyone I'd want to spend my last days with, but you Edith Schweiz.  That two timing Drake up and left you for Chaos to do the Poki Hoki with Moonlight Flower Phosa.  I can understand your resentment with Drake chasing after a furry, but don't worry, I'll keep you company and watch over you as you sleep.

The end of the world, to celebrate this event, we must go back ourselves and read the scroll of Ragnarok One, the story of the fall of Morroc and picture out to the current Morroc we have. Morroc was a rich country with a relaxing OST but suddenly it was ravaged by a brown gigantic boss monster and thus we called it "Satan Morroc".

Most people assume that Ragnarok means chaos and the end of the world. Little do they know that in Norse mythology, Ragnarok is always followed by Rebirth. Every ending has a new beginning.

 

Many months have passed since I've seen this place. I return now to visit an old friend but apparently, this friend of mine still has his face on the dirt.
We talked about how I braved every obstacle that stands in my way. I told him how I killed a golden roach with a single dagger while wearing a funny shorts even though I hate them flying ones.
How I braved my arachnophobia by walking in a cave not knowing there's a huge A** spider inside.
How I destroyed an electric crab and his pal that looked like bucket full of tentacles. Gross.
How I braved my aquaphobia and fear of deep water to go inside leviathan's crib and give him a beating.
How another dagger magically appeared on the other side of my hip.
How I sucked it up whacking cute random animals like tigers, wolves, rabbits and bears in Payon forest. I mean, Who the hell whacks a bear?!
How I wandered inside the forest tomb only to beat up a half naked cosplaying fox girl.
How I spent countless hours trying to find a walking bird in maple.
How I survived countless falls and whacking pigs in divided plane.
How I find myself remembering a person called Cart Onasi everytime I go to Alberta.
How I made a fool out of myself thinking that there are girls in bikinis at the beach in Verta.
How I wondered why there's a desert beside a beach.
How I asked myself why did the assassin order hired a guy named Mustafa. He might explode randomly or something (No pun intended)
How I looked for a blessed thing in the road of bless.
How I braved my homophobia by beating the sh#@ out of a Fa%g$t named Lapparman Von Cherva
How I spent countless hours looking for a raid party since I only have 5k HP
How I was wondering why my awesome 4 second Moonlight Dance animation changed to a simple purple wind-like thing.
How I checked in one day to see that my hp jumped from 5k-10k
Why I suddenly have a power ranger morphing skill
How easily I got into Chaos and +20 the bajeezuz out of my chaos weapon
How I killed stuff in a new desert map and got my Osiris gear.
How I wandered off for awhile being a level 20 full Osiris guy with nothing to do.
How I randomly checked my temporary storage to see a +19 refine award that made me rise from the gutter to the top.
How lonely I got spending a week in Fallen fortress to get my Jacktheripper costume with a little company from a guy named Njoror via chatbox.
How I felt amazed to open my temporary storage box and find another refine award.
How awesome it felt like to see my daggers shine bright not like diamonds.
How I felt so bad about spending 2k KP for honing stuff
How awesome it felt that my 2k KP got refunded then suddenly bitter by spending it all for premium mount boxes hoping for a rocket.

Now I find myself tracing roots. Coming back to the place where it all started, and telling my old friend about my travels and what Ragnarok truly meant for me.
I told him that the next time we see each other, I might be riding a red rocket laughing at his face.. Or I may come back with a super puncher and punch him straight to his face.
After everything I said about my experience, he only said two words.. "Poring bastards"

I didn't believe it when I got word of it. I couldn't. The thought alone chilled me to my bones, put a tremble into hands that have wielded claws against Osiris himself. It wasn't true. It couldn't be true. Surely, such a thing was not...but how was it possible?

So I ran. Back from the dusty temples of Morroc, absorbing the blows of the golems and condors without dealing them back in kind. Back through the busy marketplace, the crowds and the upraised voices. Back, behind Serena and her trusty broom as she flew us, bullet-like, back to Prontera, where my source had mailed me from. She barely had breath to wish me well before I was off, running, straight towards where the catastrophe was said to have originated from. Flinging myself past the wide doors, my shaking fingers reached out...

....my source was right. No, I can't say that. Everything was not right. The world was not right. Surely Ragnarok lurks around the corner, on the verge of striking us all down where we stand!

For there were no more chocolate cakes left in the Auction House.

NO. MORE. CAKES.

How can such a reality be? A world without chocolate cakes is a paradox - one cannot exist without the other.

The end of the world is upon us, people of Midgard. Prepare yourselves. For the lack of cakes is the beginning of the dawning armageddon before it collapses upon us all.

At the end of the Ragnarok, John, the Royal guard of morroc (one of the three city in Ragnarok), gave up his life to protect his wife, their daughter,son , and the whole of morroc citizen. He was recognized as a hero. Three years have passed and the remaining Enemy have organized a tournament to replace him. In this tournament joins the child of Peter, determined to take his father's place as the Royal guard of morroc. Solving all of the problem in morrco.

After the fall of Osiris in the ancient tomb of Morroc I decided to go back to my office in Alberta to prepare a strategy for the upcoming War of Emperium. The battle would surely be fierce, a large number of recruits had already joined the rival guilds that populated Midgard. I was just about to seal the letter that needed to be transmitted to our guild master when someone knocked at my door.

 

Prontera Guard : Lady Baelphire ! Something terrible happened, King Reinhard as send me to escort you to the castle.

 

I went to Prontera the capital city of Rune Midgard where the troubled King Reinhard had summoned me. After a long discussion I discovered that a lot of villages had been attacked, destroyed and wiped out of the map in few hours. What sorcery was this !

He also let me understand that Gilgamesh the Master Class expert had witnessed some of those dark events and that I had to investigate, starting with interrogating him.

I knew Gilgamesh really well. I spend countless hours cleaning each corner of Osiris Tomb on his command to acquire power. After a brief meeting on his company I came across the most import clue of my investigation : A flying fortress had been seen nearby the burning villages. 

I decided to have a look by myself. I climbed the highest tower of Morroc and looked at the sky. It was here ! flying high above me without a sound. What device could that fortress use to be able to float like this. I looked at my compass, the fortress was heading towards the land of Payon. I needed to reach that area as fast as I could.

Once I reached Payon, I decided to join hands with the crusaders that were protecting the area from the evil coming out of Payon ruins. It seems that the activities of the dark spirit and the living dead Sohee have been increasing lately.

I Walked through the forest and noticed smokes and ashes floating around me. The more I headed foward the deepest the fog was and the smell of burning woods and flesh became stronger. I felt shivers down my spine when i finally reached the point of desolation...

Countless of corpses were covering the ground of Payon Forest. Turned red by blood, ashes and flame the once peaceful green land had lost it's magnificence to became a sterile land of devastation. I could feel the spirits of fallen crusaders watching over their dead bodies waiting for their guide to Valhalla as I let one of my tears flowing along my cheek. Then, as bright as hope I saw it, few feet ahead of me a warping portal was floating on top of a grey circle of stone. Was Odin showing me the way to get into that fortress of despair?

In a ray of light i found myself warped in the instance. All I could see was endless void surrounding a small floating piece of land were I was standing. An abominable laugh broke the silent of this lifeless place. Facing over I met the eyes with her, the person who had brought Ragnarok upon us....Witch Bijou !  She had swore to serve the Valkyrie Himmelmez in order to bring death upon all living things. Without hesitation I started the fight... Would I be able to stop her... or would she kill me and end the world in a raging storm of fire striking from above...

You say our population is dying. You complain that we are boring, dull. We take too much grinding. We are 'OP', 'bugged', 'broken', 'nerfed'.

You talk about quitting. You whine that the game is not worth playing anymore, that you will move to other more 'fun' and 'interesting' games. You talk about leaving us behind, a Ragnarok of messes and poor development and glitches.

You think we can't hear you.

But we can.

And we do.

Or course, you think we are simple pixels, computer coding even. We don't blame you. We understand.

But, you see, just like you, we don't want to die. And if this world is ending, maybe like you, we too should move on.

So we thought since you played in our world so much, perhaps it is time we played in yours. It's not that hard to reach it really - it's just on the other side of the screen. All it will take is a simple break. And we are very familiar with breaking.

Ragnarok is ending? Oh no, our world is not ending. Why...
