So this fancy dish reminded me of a homemade, handed down recipe from my family. In the spirit of the Dragon Boat Festival, Zhong Zi, is made to celebrate this holiday. I altered this recipe a little to tie it a bit closer with the roots of RO2. This level 25 dish can be made using the wings of Izlude trancers and a few other... special mobs. ^^

Also as a level 50 chef, it is my duty to master this recipe because chef outfit is cute and like... yeah.. idk. <-- doesn't make sense.

This version is vegetarian friendly! ^^

So let's get started!

You will need the following:

1 or 2 bags - dried bamboo leaves (Trancer leaves~)

2 lbs. sticky rice

4-5 cups of shiitake mushrooms ("spore" meat! >:D)

1/2 bag of dried shallots (our "grasshopper wings" lol)

soy sauce - to taste (salty sauce)

black pepper - to taste

1 tsp. sugar

vegetable oil

Prep. Time!

  1. Soak the bamboo leaves overnight in a big bowl or the sink. After that, rinse it off with some baking soda and water to clean off the dirt particles. Make sure to rinse thoroughly and pat/wipe them dry. Set that aside.
  2. Take a pot and soak your sticky rice in water for about 4 hours. Drain the rice.
  3. Next, soak the mushrooms until they're soft. Wash them and then cut some of the stubby edge part off. Lol. Then cut the mushroom into thin strips.
  4. Stir fry the rice, dried shallots, adding in the vegetable oil and soy sauce. Don't overdose on the soy sauce or else...it'll be way too salty. >__<
  5. In a separate pot, stir fry the mushrooms with the black pepper, vegetable oil, sugar, and 1 tsp. of soy sauce.

Wrap it up!

  1. Now take 2 leaves and overlap them leaving about 1in. gap on the edge.
  2. At the center of the leaves, fold one side over to line up with the other side of the leaves to form a pouch. I can't really explain this well enough lol, but there are images online if you look up "zhong zi wrapping."
  3. Now take a spoonful of rice as a bottom layer, make sure to lightly push down to create space/less air in the wrap. Then Add another spoonful of rice to cover the mushroom.
  4. Fold the leaves over the top of the rice mix to to form like a triangular shape. Tie it up with the string to secure the wrap.
  5. Steam the wraps for about 1 hour for the rice to cook. :D

Open it up and enjoy!
