If you read some of the other threads and complaints about the more recent lag, you'll see that Warpportal are suffering from a DDoS attack(s) They are unpredictable and random. At least they are quick when the servers do go down, to get them back up again and offer "Resets" for dungeons for those who are in instances while the disconnections happen.

Shouldn't this be posted, in the Maintenance Notes, rather than in response to the server down times

This really needs to be fixed. WP is doing good on most things since taking over but server security and stability are constantly an issue since returning to the game. Is this an attack or just faultering hardware that needs to be upgraded at some point in the near future?

It's a combination of DDOS Attacks (which are not Gravitys fault), ISP, & server issues.

Edit: Nvm... must've been nothing. The Patcher was not patching and only the Classic button was available to click.

When our websites go down, and people are kicked out of the game, that is the Denial of Service attack happening, not faltering hardware. Even if we had tens of thousands of dollars to spend on hardware it would still be extremely difficult to stop a DDOS attack.

I remember at a previous company I worked for we were having some issues with DDOS attacks for a while. We looked into how much having an outside source mitigate for you costs and it was more than a few thousand dollars a month. there's no way they're capable of making an investment like that.

So the "stable" server crashed again today. Disconnect from RO, couldn't re-connect, & the forums went down too.

 

This was around 3:00 pm EST, & it too close to 30 minutes, before they were up this time!

Nothing seems to be any different this week. I've already had many disconnects, throughout the day, regardless of the time. I came back from being afk, logged in, & was immediately disconnected.
