Named after the Norse god, partially from my love of this game growing up :]

Picked him up on Saturday from the shelter.  He is blind in his right eye, and has a chip on his ear, so he's had a hard life.  He is the friendliest cat I've ever seen, but is also terrified of everything.

A notched or tipped ear like that generally means he has been neutered. They do that so that they don't attempt to spay and neuter the same cat multiple times in catch, fix, and release feral cat programs.

I think his name should more appropriately be Hod, for the Balder's brother who is blind.

Or he could have gotten in a fight like Tiger did. One ear was like Loki's on the OPs Picture and the other had a hole that we used to put earings in after we noticed it lol.

To the OP he is adorable. Make him feel safe and secure and that fear of everything should slowly go away.

Just wanted to give ppl an update - he's adjusting very well to his new home, and he is just flippin awesome to have around.  He's great company, and he loves to hunt pests around the house and play tricks on people.  He loves being around people and is super affectionate and outgoing - I can't express how much I love this cat :]

Here's a video of him playing with my sister's golden retriever.

I'm glad to hear the little fellah is adapting nicely to his surroundings.

Sadly, it reminds us that there are so many homeless animals out there, and probably just about the same amount of humans.

Fortunately, you set an example to follow.

:)

I had to look this up after returning to this topic, and he actually does, haha

I also got a 2nd kitty named Freya last week to keep him company during the day.

They're friends already :)
