Scary Figures of the night

 

It's been awhile since I heard about someone lurking every night and vanish in thin air...

It's scary and mysterious why the Prontera knights along with Zera's can't find a clue regarding this.

Well here goes...

Story will goes and varies as at midnight, you'll see two figures walking towards the center of Prontera fountain.

You'll feel uneasy when you see them walk as you'll see them floating in the ground.

You can just see a figure of a man and a female sitting on the fountain side.

Folks say when you stare at them eye to eye you're love life will perish, or if your single you will never found the right person for you.

Some say when you sit with them in the fountain, they will come closer to you and sit on your both sides then cold air will just flow and then after a min they'll vanish... and when you run and scream, they will drag you to the north down to the bottom of the ocean.

On my insights, they are the soul of Romeo and Juliet in which King Reinhard forbid to be together.

It's been too long since the conflict between the king of Prontera and the Lord of Morroc.

Dear Clinkz,
I know this may sound strange, maybe even as if I were channeling Carly Rae Jepsen. Yet, since I first met you in Prontera, I was captivated by your calm gaze as you watched me run by. Your yukata, so vividly colored, never fails to brighten my day. I know some may scoff your at large ears, but I assure you, I'm not that shallow. (In fact, I think them rather lovely, and if you're so inclined, I do pretty good ear rubs.) I'm enamoured by you - it's crazy, but love is crazy. And I'm crazy-stupid-madly eager to see if we could work out. You don't talk much, but that's alright - I can talk enough for the two of us.
I don't have a 'number', but I'm always there in Pront, usually by the Auction House. Maybe come over one day, and we can just hang out together, maybe even grab a flight to Maple Forest for a picnic - I heard the weather there is fantastic.

When one says 'ghost story', one expects horror on a large-scale. A ghoul not unlike the ones in Fallen Fortress, or a decaying corpse, gormless mouth agape as he stalks the corridors beneath a stone pyramid. Something meant to chill you, curl icy fingers around your dreams until you wake with your heart suffocating the air in your lungs, the air you need to muster up a scream.

Akelos was no stranger to ghost stories, if they come in such forms. He had massacred the undead in droves and cut down Set while he screamed in rage. He had learnt to release the ghosts of the night back into the darkness from which dreams are born of.
 
So when a small slip of a boy came up to him in Prontera, he didn't think much of it, just angled the tip of cap further down to shield the sun from his eyes.

"Sir? Are you free, sir?"

Akelos merely grunted non-commitally. The boy - a crescentia, guildless and geared in clothing that marked him as level 50 -  was undeterred, standing in front of him as he waved.

"Sir, could you do me a favour please?"

Sighing, Akelos got to his feet - it's probably a gear run, or something along those lines. "Which dungeon - Arena, or Baphomet's Garden?"

The crescentia blinked at him. "Huh? Oh, it's neither, sir - its the battlefield. If you don't mind, sir."

"Prontera Battlefield? Aren't you a bit too low-leveled to be farming blood points?"

"I just need to collect something, sir! If you're free and you don't mind, that is."

Oh, must be the grass quest then. "Er, wouldn't it be better to get a priest to go with you? Or a tank?" But even as he said it, Akelos looked around at his guildmates in Prontera with him. Most were napping, or clearly busy with something else. Kieran caught his eye from where she was sorting out her card album, and raised an eyebrow. Going to help?

Might as well. The tiny crescentia hadn't lost his hopeful expression, and Akelos was free. It took little effort to pull on his Shadow form, and run to the imposing entrance to the battlefield. Once inside, Akelos looked at the crescentia again. "Well, go collect your grass. I'll watch your back. You did take the quest already, right?"

The crescentia looked back at him with a sweet smile. "Oh, I've already collected it. Is there anything you'd like me to pass on?"

"Pass on? wha-?"

The fear strikes him as the shock presses him groundwards, creeping up through his veins. the ground boils purple, and Akelos opens his mouth, tries to speak. He's fought crescentias before, was intimately familar with Imperio, and Land of Darkness, even the silence that glues his tongue to the top of his mouth.

But this, this feels different. This feels...

The crescentia laughs, a high, light sound. "Oh, this is so fun! All of you are really too nice, sir. What playmates you'll make for each other."

Eyes already dimming with blindness finally noticed the people standing around them. No, not people, shades of people, sightless as they fumbled around. Not quite dead, their lives hanging onto the living by a ghost number as they shambled around, mouths fallen open and slack, gaze unseeing. Some of the costumes were already half-rotted, hanging off limbs that droop, skeletal by emanciated sides. Others were startlingly similar to the sunken features of the executers he regularly fought at the Fallen Fortress.

Behind him, the crescentia tutted, already in Awake Form. "There's really been too many deaths in the Fortress - we need more undead, don't we? You lot have been relentless with the farming; do you know how hard it is to replenish the mobs? Well, no matter - I've moved the last batch over - you lot should be ready to go in a week or so. Who knows? Maybe you'll even drop a rune for your guildies when they farm you eventually."

No, Akelos wanted to scream through lips that wouldn't moves. But the crescentia laughed, lifting his scythe.

"Crucio!"
