it just pisses me off that in the ragnarok anime GTB was killed with magnum break! cmon ppl, magnum break cannot kill GTB!

 

There was a reason why the GTB card they got only cost a puny bag of zenies.

Like ~5 years ago or w/e I remember seeing a screenshot on a fansite of someone killing GTB and card dropped.

 

Turned out it was male theifbug or something like that.   Must have been a wizard or aoe killer.

Well yea, you could....but back then there still was photo shop.  100% discretion.

 

And if there are really 75 (or less) GTB's on chaos in the span of 2? merges and 2003-2014, that sounds reasonable.  I think some people tend to overstate item duping/cheating/etc at times.

Why not make GTB shadow gear? More availability and classes that cant wear shield have immunity to magic everyone wins  .

That sounds like an excellent trap for idiots with bottomless checking accounts. When they get +10 on all 3 pieces and realize it only adds to 30, they'll start QQing though. I can't stand dumb QQing

Most people who possess that amount of money do not have the mentality to spend that much on a very small mmorpg/game.  Anyone who amasses their wealth are usually more frugal than throwing it into a few pixels.  Of course, there are the very small minority who inherit their daddies wealth and don't have a damn clue on financial stability.

1) This game is 11 years old, if not more. I've seen at least 239293239 thread like this one.

2) People literally spent years in the game to obtain this particular MVP card.

3) It's really, really easy to counter if you know how to play.

4) You don't need to spend 1 billion $ in WP points to get MVP cards, just learn to play.

 

So, what's the point in nerfing it ? Make people angry and ragequit the game?

EDIT: Oh, yeah i forgot to add i own 2 GTB cards and i already quitted the game months ago (right now i'm just playing WoE TE on sunday). I certainly didn't quit the game cause GTB were unbalanced.

Just a little example: i remember when i used GTB in WoE 2.0 with my Rune Knight (130,000 hp cause i had a Tao Gunka as well) and i kept dying so easily that i ended up to almost never use it even if Fallen Bishops users on stringer hurt a lot (not considering the incredible amount of SP used while wearing GTB and while on stringer, something like 4000 sp in 4-5 seconds plus the inability to get buffs).

I don't have GTB and I play wizard as main character. I really hate GTB but I won't call it game-breaking.

 

GTB sure is op (Many MvP cards are. And it's the reason why they are called 'MvP'). It helps a lot in PvM. And It's 'game-breaking' (more like class-breaking?) in 1v1 PvP situations. But RO was never meant to be centered in 1v1 PvP (unless you're playing in a PS). In real PvP situations, there are various damage-type so you can't wear GTB all the time. So it actually is not that 'game-breaking'.

 

GTB 'can' be game-breaking if every (or a considerable amount of) player owns and wears it. But if only one or two players in every guild wear it, I don't think it's game-breaking at all. And if it will ever happen that every player owns GTB. I don't think the GM will just sit and do nothing about it.

 

And I actually think mage class will be too op without the existence of GTB. GTB limits our potential not completely nullifies it.

GTB is very strong, but I seriously wouldn't even call it OPed, nevermind suggest it to be nerfed.

 

It nullifies "all" magic, as in both good, and bad. SP consumption is doubled, and the worst downside of all, is that It's a Shield card. No race deduction is a insanely huge draw back.

 

Also as Xellie pointed out, It's mainly used to stop debuffs, and status effects, because we can already use elemental gear or MDEF to lower magic dmg to pretty much nothing.

 

Basically It's useless in PvM, is a liability in MvP. and is very situational in WOE as is. There's no need to nerf it.

 

WOE is not a one person show, and It's very easy to kill someone who is using a GTB, It's simple. Have any of the dozens, and dozens of non-magic based char take them out or ask a Stalker to Divest it = done.

There's a few team based options to remove it in renewal. I'd say it's even more balanced now than it was pre renewal because of masq weakness piercing FCP. The only time its a real pain is on an inspired RG(can't be masqed, can't be dispelled, can't be blood lusted , etc) and then it's truly undivestable. There's also always the tarot card of fate route to dispel FCP or break the shield.
