I really don't like roll backs. I am doing the overnight vendiing. Maybe GMs can get items for free only using some commands but I cannot. It really takes time to hunt for items and then sell them for zeny. If after roll back, I cannot get either my money or items back, I doubt if ticket is really helpful. The team really replies the tickets with very low efficiency.

 

Furthermore, though I like the various events of iro, is it really fair for those who didn't suffer from the roll back to enjoy the compensation? They did nothing and they just enjoy benefits, then how do the players with loss of either exp or zeny think? 

 

Just my personal opinion.

 

 

Then how do you define "inefficient"? I would rather GM "waste" MORE time to completely solve this roll back issue and to make everyone happy because it is not the first time right? Do you want to suffer more roll back issues in the future? If you are on the "no loss" side, then you absolutely want to restore the game as soon as possible to enjoy the benefit.

 

what is this i don't even.  in your original post you wanted the GMs to make sure that people who didn't suffer exp/item losses to not be able to gain the benefit (i.e. compensation event).  I replied that it would be hugely inefficient to check player by player to make this differentiation and this would open up a huge amount of needless/pointless tickets for them to comb through.  Indeed, people are probably already bombarding the GMs with stuff that they supposedly managed to get during the hours affected by rollback.  Setting a specific rollback point (2:20AM server time) for EVERYONE bypasses this problem, and everyone regardless of whether they are affected gets to benefit from the compensation event.

 

Nowehere in my reply did I state that I didn't want the GMs to spend the requisite amount of time to solve the database issue.  In fact, that is exactly what they are doing during this downtime, releasing a fix that they had already planned to put in on Wed but moved to now due to the reoccurence of this issue.

The developers are doing fine optimizing their game in KOREA, you know, where they actually make money. This at most is a laughingstock allowed to generate some extra side money.
