I don't like the towel as a prize and Camp has said that it can't be handed out as a prize unless it's a temp use version.

so limited edition pre-sale items can be given as prizes but limited edition quest items can't? what is their reasoning?
There is no reasoning behind things RO does. You know that
Edit: I guess no one has any info on this item or knows where to find it...

If so it's kinda worthless & doesn't make sense. The description says "players are unable to fight while wearing an Adventurer's Trusty Towel." & this item only does this "This trusty towel truly is the sidearm of an experienced adventurer. Allowing one to remain cool in the face of adversity.
A pretty useless reward if this is the case.
I also don't see how this can be a reward since this also says "Each Adventurer's Trusty Towel is labeled with the name of the character it was acquired on."
Seriously doubt that a reward can be done with a character name.

Few things.
First, the naming thing is a holdover from the event in which they were obtainable.
Second, it's an aesthetic item, which allows you to toggle your appearance. EXTREMELY rare and highly sought after. I've kicked myself every time I saw someone (Ultimate and Time) using it, since I didn't bother to log in and grab one way back when.
Lastly, it's permanent! Not like the scrolls and bags that are consumed upon use.
That is an amazing reward.

I couldn't tell what it did from the description.

it's the special snowflake syndrome
More like they said it would never be offered again and now they're offering it again. Maybe if they stopped messing around with us when they use wordings like that, we wouldn't have an issue.
Just don't label items as exclusive ever again and we won't get angry anymore.

It's stupid that it's exclusive... It's not even tradable, so why does it matter? @@
The CMs were the ones that decided that they would be exclusive so you'll have to take it up with them. I don't see why they can't offer the quest again every summer so others have a chance at it. I didn't know that the item would only be offered that year and only that year, otherwise I would've done the quest back then. It's a quest item for goodness sakes; not like an item that was supposed to be tied to a real-life item purchase.
