Mage or Cleric?

now i dont know if i should work towards a cleric or a mage.

Cleric=supportive (Sure, they can be offensive as well but not quite as offensive as mages)
So it depends on what style of play you prefer. But clerics are always nice to start with

If you make a cleric, make it on a separate account so that you can use it to support your other characters later on.

Otherwise I'd go with cleric for my first character. Better, I made it a dex cleric in the future so it can also lure (but yeah, dodge isn't as good as it used to now, even with 2200+ dodge I still can't lure anything at ruins)
The key to play a mage is Attack power (and accuracy), so you need to kill the mobs faster than they kill you. If you have low AP, slim chance of going well solo if you don't want to buy those pot buffs. So, my advice is make a cleric and find yourself a mage partner/ or champ partner to fast levelling up. AH and also if you playing supportive rule, ask your party leader to put it on even share i/o free for all so you can also get the drops (since you're not killing)
