Road to Alchemist

I have been playing this game for less than a week. My friend shows me the homun and it is so cute.
So, I try to get one. This is my first time playing this game. Here is my question.
I have a merchant level 25
STR 9
VIT 32
AGI 9
INT 1
LUK 1
DEX 21
I am wondering where should I train my merchant until I can change to Alchemist.
I just start playing so I don't have money. I don't think I will get Mammonite because of money.
Am I on the right track?
Thank you for your response.

Personally, I have noticed that having high DEX and high STR + Lvl 10 Mammonite is pretty much the best way to level my merc.
As for the money-issue, go fight Spores and Snakes (2 maps south of Payon OR 1 map east of Payon) and collect Strawberries. In every city you will find at least one character having an Open Buy Store where they want to buy off Strawberries from other players.
And they pay really well - 4.000 Zeny is the smallest amount I've found up to now. And selling them will fund Mammonite, no problem. If you need better equipment, go do Eden Group Quests - Training Quests start at Level 12 (next step is 26, step after that is 40) and you get good equipment that include higher stat increases. (Training Quest II will give you a weapon - either a Saber or a Mace, for Merchants)
Get Mammonite, get money, do Eden Quests and mammonite any enemy you see and you should have an easier time to become an Alchemist.

Is my stat really messed up?
Level 27 Job Level 26
STR 9 + 2
AGI 9
VIT 34 + 2
INT 1 + 1
DEX 20 + 2
LUK 1
I also have
Enlarge Weight Limit Level 5
Item Appraisal Level 1
Discount Level 3
Overcharge Level 5
Pushcart Level 10
Vending Level 1
Am I doing it right?

If you're only going to sell a few things now and then and will focus more on fighting (which I assume you will, since you want to have a Homun), then I don't think you need the Pushcart that high.
Are you using a pushcart right now? Or will you be using one in the near future?
As for the Stats, it can work out as your survivability is higher due to the high VIT, but killing things would take longer. And in a large mob, it can be hard to manage. Check Iro.Wiki for more specific information on the Alchemist (and Biochemist/Geneticist) and see if any of those builds appeal more to you.
If you really think you need to change, put everything in the Kafra Storage to have 0 Weight and use the Mesmerist in the middle of Prontera. I still suggest the Mammonite-DEX-STR way, it's working well for me. (Although it does eat away at Zeny and if you run out of SP fast, can take long)

Only need you need to make sure is that your weight is 0 (so no cart, no items, no equip .. and if you have Novice Potions, well, they way 1 and can't be storaged or dropped. You need to sell them)

There is a table that shows the movement speed % for each level of the skill here:
http://irowiki.org/wiki/Pushcart
Another thing to consider is the item appraisal skill. While it is convenient to be able to identify items without having to use a magnifier, magnifiers are cheap enough that you could purchase a dozen or two at a time to keep in your cart and use as needed. Skipping this skill is an easy way to free up a point if you find that you really need one for another skill.
Getting the merchant quest skills Crazy Uproar and Cart Revolution will help you out quite a bit. Crazy Uproar increases your STR by 4 for a 5 minute duration, while Cart Revolution allows you to swing your cart around to deal damage to monsters/mobs.

I use my level 13 thief to hunt Roda Frog but he can't find any empty bottle. (hunt it for an hour)
Is there a place where I can find it more easily?

On Valk, Empty Bottles do not get dropped at all. You need to buy them for 400 Zeny from various NPCs. The Tool Dealer in Payon sells them, just like the one in Payon. Those are two that I know of.

Both in Payon huh?

I restarted leveling my biochem, and she has high int and str, Medium amount of dex, and some vit. With this build I can go and cart revo monsters. She does quite well now. I don't need to use sp healing items, though i do go through lots of white potions because of low vit.
I don't have mamonite, didn't get it cuz i didn't like the idea of using up money that way, spending enough on white potions.

That's where I'd suggest, if money allows it, to get yourself something from the Kafra Shop (something your merc or any other of your chars can't use - or won't use for a really long time) and sell it for a huge price on the market. (For example, I wanted a Cancer Diadem, got an Aquarius Diadem and since I saw no close future for my chars to be level 70, I sold it for 10 Mil .. still pretty cheap, if you ask me)
@Miskav: Oops. I corrected it .. well, Prontera and Payon both begin with P, so ..
