I just started playing a little while ago and currently have a lvl 33/31 thief

my current stats are

str 9+2
agi 49+1
vit 1+1
int 1+1
dex 15+2
luk 1+1

I want to go an assassin crit build, but I'm not too sure when I should start putting points into other stats or how many points into stats I should be putting.
Also since I am brand new to this game I have little to no money to buy anything extravagant with. If anyone could point me into the right direction it would be most appreciated.

For now I would suggest asking a merchant class character to use their discount skill to help you get a damascus. That should be a decent weapon until you become an assassin. Don't worry too much about armor yet, just start saving money for assassin weapons.

I'll let some people more familiar with the lower level maps offer specific suggestions.

A Damascus would be a really good weapon for now - you could also do the Training Quest from Eden Group and get the Eden Dagger II. It's not the best, but it's a pretty decent weapon and doesn't cost you anything. (Just Quests - depending on your level. At level 33 you should be sent to Ant Hell to kill various ant types. It's easy and you only need to worry about being mobbed by the ants)

Your AGI is going well, keep stuffing points into that and add some points into DEX as well. My Thief had barely a DEX of 30 and still fails to hit all the enemies she's facing (Lvl 60)
If you're going Crit, you need LUK, but don't put anything into it yet. I think you're just fine going with AGI/DEX until you job change, actually. Post-Job Change you can start putting points into STR.

As for leveling, well, depending on your Zeny and amount of Potions you have/can buy, I'd suggest going to Coco*'s for now or do various Quests from the Eden Group. It might get boring, though.

get more str - equip a damascus kill cocos but get more str otherwise your damage will stay poor - meanin u need more time to kill meaning less exp, less loot and more time for fiends to hit you. going crit is for beginners hard and expensive i ld suggest you to get some Str first and after that get some luk from time to time. guess 60 luk in the end should be ok for first (meaning 20% crit with katar--> 40% crit.) addin gloria from a priest ->60% crit. rest crit can be gathered by a trip crit jur (which is at ur current status a bit far away but can be a goal worthy to get)

PS i ve a sin x lvl 90+ crit - work on it its nice and fast pm me if u wish any advice

Ah ok, I'm not one of those people who favors one server over another, I was just going to give ya a few things if you were on Ymir

As far as the build goes, you'll need to make sure your crit is in the mid 40's (to give you 9x% crit with a katar class weapon) or else you'll never hit anything with that dex. I would lower the luck some and get some more strength. I know strength isn't as important as it used to be, but it isn't that hard to get 4x crit, you can easily get there without 9x luck. Maybe go with like 60 luck and put those points in strength.

about how much does it cost to pick up 3 soldier skellie cards and a +7 jur?

jur[3] is like 1 mil upgrade it with KP
3 SS cards are like 20 mil

seems impressive much money but u can gain that money a bit faster by grinding useful items like Strawberry (sell them for 7k ea) cobwebs (3k) and other misc items (Immortal hearts eg.) and sellin them with a vendor.

u dont need all 3 cards at once buyin them one by one will help you lvling

search for a priest playin with you !gloria will be useful

ah your build: Agi is ok, but you seriously dont need 90 LUK. u need str! at least 80 str! 60 Luk with all bonus are enough.

would an andre and 2 soldier skellie cards work better for a little extra damage than just getting 3 soldier skellies?

Yes it would add more damage. You will want (at the end of the day) 100+ total crit, because if you don't crit then you'll most likely miss meaning the andre card wont have any effect at all. The Morrigane Set is really good for additional crit, and if you wear that then you can use jurs/weapons with more ATK/+% to kill faster.

i suggest u use them to raise str/dex wise.
