I like unique names too. Though if I picked one, I would make sure to consider their future with the name - possible added teasing through school years, job interviews, and how it'll be perceived by others as a whole.

 

I thought my sister-in-law was really clever thinking about unisex names if they had a female (yeah, there are still interviewers who care about your sex/name even though they are not supposed to discriminate ).

Also, as a person with the name Brittany, which meant I had another girl (or two sometimes) with the same name in class... Being a little unique is much better than being irritated daily. o.o "Brittany?" "What?" "Not you." at least once a day... e.e Or worse, "Brittany? Brittany? Brittany?" "WHAT!" "Why won't you answer me?" "My name is auto-tuned out."

Yeah, my thoughts exactly XD

 

It's fun and challenging to find the balance between a normal name and a common name. Also, you can put the kid 2 names, one a bit normal and the other one excentric. That way, you can identify your child easily, it won't cause much friction in social circles and still has a cool name in case the child wants to use it later on.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions and concerns! I have a lot of names written down on a list, and I am sure there is more to come. My wife suggested the name Uriel or Ariel, and I know there is an NPC by the name of Variel I believe it is, the NPC for the Geneticist Job Change Quest? Anyways, thank you all once again for your support.
