Might need a little more fleshing out with enchants and headgears, but this is a really bloody awesome idea!

Nah, if anything, it gives an edge to other high-tier headgears. 

 

Say, you're a novice hunting spores and BAM, got a Hat [1]. You continue leveling and BAM, Boa card. As you continue hunting, you find 30 rough Eluniums. You transform them into Eluniums and upgrade the hat to +5 successfully. The Boa card is nothing special, so you get a coin. You decide to enchant your Hat. BAM, got a EA2! or a Spell 2! That's a great help to many future builds without using millions of zeny. :3

Yeah I think this system would revolutionize how easy it is for newer players without affecting the game balance of higher level players.

Could look up the NPC IDs if you have particular NPCs in mind.

the occurence of priest in woe te with mr smile and pink hat is already a wow factor for me. i like the project, bring back nostalgia where people use old headgears that very irrelevant now.

That's good too, but before implementation, I'd like to see how the increased demand for junk cards affects the prices once existing supplies start to dwindle. You may get to a point where, at that success rate, it would be more cost effective to just get another +5 headgear. Is there any way to run a query to see how many cards are generated in any given day to get a projection of future supplies?
